Hint, it isn't supposed to have a trans pan gasket

I know it's supposed I have the correct rtv, but I'm lazy... the only reason the last one leaked was because all the bolts were finger tight I was loostening them with my fingers on a socket... Probably why one bolt walked itself out

If the pan isn't made for a rubber gasket, it's not BTW, it's gonna leak with one cause it can't apply the pressure everywhere. Notice the indent around the perimeter on the pan

Meh, we'll see I would think that indent around the entire pan would make a better deal against the *rubber* gasket

I didn't get a quark or paper gasket I got a rubber one figured it would deform and create a good enough seal

    Shitll be fine

The Camry had an oil leak changing out the oil pump housing gasket, oil pump shaft seal, oil pump gasket with some black rtv, oil pan gasket out of rtv and front main seal and there were still puddles under it

Checked it out again the trans pan had a missing bolt and was saturated but my care for the car ran out

I drove the 4 runner I also noticed it had red atf and black oil leaking out of it as well

    :sadviolin:

I've removed, cleaned, and put black permatex rtv on the cam half moon things because the guy before me used permatex grey (on everything they could have) which isn't meant for oil contact so it all got brittle and leaked

Just sucks to have to work on a shitty car I don't care about furthermore fix someone's mistake

Only to have it still leak (atf this time)

But with the engine oil leak fixed and trans pan gasket on let's hope I can move on with more noticeable fixes like control arms/cvs

Maybe even progress down the checklist to painting it

What do you value them at?

They'd look good with all the other money you're throwing at it
