What's the cost for an alignment? With SPC uppers?

I gotta burn my cam tabs in first. Which will require me manipulating one of the cam bolts to get them 90° and welded, so it will definitely need a 'goodenuf' alignment after that. I've got the most the junk at home to DIY too, just not been super successful with it, yet.

No guarantee I’ll have the new one mounted by then, so we still could be.

    ***Technically speaking***

His post isnt in the BST thread.

    So...

But, still skirting the line, with less than 50 posts.

Good place to post it though, as its regionally focused. However, dont be surprised if a mod deletes and gives a short vacation.

Damn, I'll go to you next time. I went to Michael Tires Plus off 42.. They got me 'aligned enough' on sunday for $99.. however, i'm now rubbing my cab mount. I go back thursday to see their A tech.
I'm running 285/75/16's on factory wheels with (temporary) 1-1/4" spacers.
If i understand it correctly, by maxing out the lower cams, we can fine tune with the UCA's and get 3deg + of caster. My question here is, what should i be concerned about going out of factory spec? admittedly i don't know a lot about alignment.

I'm free all afternoon if you guys can squeeze me in. I'd rather pay to get you on the case lol

Drove down to Gatlinburg last week from just outside of Chicago. It was a great trip, learned a lot and the change of scenery from flat land to rolling hills was FANTASTIC. Lots of great looking Toyotas out your way (T4R's and Tacomas). Maybe some of you guys saw me lol

Nothing wrong with spacers. Many of us have hurt/broken many other components, whilst wheel spacers are on. Myself included.
But yes, 285s can rub the cab mount.

Is there any safe alignment that will not rub the cab mount? or is it inevitable to do CMC?

Not to my knowledge. I've been running 255/85 and didn't rub the cab mount. 315/75 going on before Rush, definitely gotta cut all the things!

I was hoping that's going to be a last resort.....
I want to get my alignment redone and make sure i get that tire as far forward as i can before i begin chopping things. Right now, i can turn just slightly drivers, and the drivers tire comes within 1/4" of the body mount. I feel like i should be able to get the tire forward enough to not worry about it in the parking lot lol

    Why a last resort?

If you have UCAs, and find the right alignment shop, you might get lucky to not rub on pavement and mall curbs.

Yeah, that's the goal. I'm going to Michaels Tires Plus off US42 thursday and see what they can do. With the SPC adjustable UCA's, i should be able to increase caster as a temporary measure.

I don't really want to start chopping metal... If i can help it, i'd prefer to not lol. But, sounds like i'm heading that direction because i love my 285's

You keep saying temporary. Temporary for what exactly?

Keep in mind, at least where I am, a lot of the alignment shops wouldn't touch my truck because of the aftermarket uppers. ID10T errors...
