Spark Plug help

Ok, so I pulled my spark plugs (Denso iridium) today to look at them. They've been in for about 20-30k miles now. Im at 50k miles. Been hearing a lot about these E3 spark plugs. Anyways, when I removed my plugs I noticed that the porcelain looked really white and clean. I looked it up and found out the my engine is running lean. I haven't had any check engine lights nor error codes set off. Is it really too lean?? I have a K&N intake and most likely need to clean my MAF sensor (never done it). What do I clean it with?? I also have DTLT headers. Would I benefit from a URD MAF:

The reason I mention the second is because one of the fixes for a white (lean) plug tip is retarding the timing. Thanks for looking and helping.

 

I don't know much about your particular problem, but I have heard that iridium plugs don't run great in 2nd gen 6 cylinders. I think Chris 4x4 did a write up on this in the technical chat forum.

 

Are you sure you don't have an exhaust leak before you get to your front o2 sensor? That could mess up your fuel/air mixture.

I hope not. I can check where the headers bolt on. That would be the only place where there could be a leak at right?? I forgot to mention that I have a unichip and boreal exhaust and o2 sims for the back to sensors.

 

Nothing is better than the factory plugs.

 

I was thinking that somebody may have tried to reuse the seals when the headers were installed. On a first gen, those seals aren't reusable. Don't know for sure if it's the same on a second gen.

 

YUP.. factory is your friend on this particular engine.

 

I have the Nippon Denso Iridium plugs in my truck and from what i can tell my truck still runs in an amazing fashion. those plugs are not designed to be ran for 50k from what i have heard since they are high performance plugs. hopefully its an easy fix but i really doubt u would have had any problems anyway... but it is better to be safe than sorry
