1st generation Seat Belts

Ever notice that when the windows are open and you are the only one in the truck and your wearing your seat belt, going down the road that the other belt on the passenger side makes noise blowing in the wind kind of like a buzzing noise?

 

Yeah, I remember that when I owned my 96. It flapped in the wind and the darn seatbelts never retracted either - always getting stuck in the door when you shut it.

 

Or how about if you make an ever so slightly agressive move in turning, braking or accellerating the seatbelt snaps tight and tries to strangle you

 

LOL, my wife hated this. I was used to it but she's one who sits way back in her seat so she'd be stuck there for a few minutes each time.

 

Rosie too-that passenger side is really bad. Can the sensitivity be adjusted? or do we not want to screw with it?

 

mine dont make any buzzing sounds,they just dont retract very well which results in getting stuck in the door quite often.

 

I don't know anyway of adjusting it short of getting the internal parts from another car (that isn't as sensitive) and rebuilding it. My '99 was bought back by the factory. Haven't noticed if the '10 is just as bad. My wife hasn't complained yet but she doesn't ride it in much.

 

No. But I have noticed that my driver side seat belt always seems to get twisted around pretty bad.
