Had a guy that used to work for us before he got fired. He was a nice enough guy, bit of an idiot, but nice. Well after a few months of putting up with his incompetence and constantly having to re-teach him, i'm talking to another coworker about it and they say "well at least he's nice". Nice? Nice don't get the job done. I may be a bit of an ass, but I rarely fuck up, and when I do, it's something I notice immediately and try to fix. This kid would constantly do the same screw up again and again. I ask my coworker "would you rather have someone who is nice, but constantly screws up, makes you double check everything they do and causes more markdowns, or the guy who can be somewhat difficult, but checks their own work, does it right the first time almost every time and saves you time/money/hassle in the end?" yes, some people are both amazing at customer service and competent...i'll take competence

No. I've had folks who I can't train and it's hard on my ego, but if I have to constantly repeat myself then you're going to lose my willingness to help you and instead I'm going to be that snarky bitch who references the last 5 times I've instructed you how to do it in the first place.

Somebody must be slippin me a lot of those invisi tablets because I really can't seem to find any fucks to give. Funny thing...the more i visibly show I don't care about, nor do I want to hear people's random shit and stories, the more people come to me like I'm their therapist.

canceling internet is like pulling teeth with people. I feel like King Leonidas at the end of 300 just taking on the arrow assault of "can we transfer your service? How about a temporary pause? Can we lower the price?"

At least you can get through to someone. We used to have Suddenlink aka Suddenfail aka Suddendrop and I have read horror stories on Facebook and nextdoor of folks trying to cancel. I believe when we finally cancelled they tried charging us for not returning a modem we never had :frusty:

That was after upping their monthly price with no warning, no explanation and no change in service. We weren't even getting 1/10th of what we were paying for. Anytime I see their sponsored ad on Facebook I add my little angry emoji along with everyone else. It's pretty funny the watch them constantly trying to replace their ads

That sounds terrifying. I'll be dropping the modem off either tonight or my days off (depending on when they close).
