Never said anything about the film improving, or not improving anything. All I said is he said the clear give off better light than the amber " As Crashnburn80 shows the Amber G4 Version is not as good as the clear version." Anyway I put the yellow film over mine as I feel it gives off better light.

Cool man. I was just adding to the conversation with my understanding of it and was proven wrong by Crash. No need to get defensive.

These are ss3 pro's aimed properly; ive never been flashed and I run them on most of the time when I'm on dark roads. Awesome fog lights for the money.

I was pulled over By a state cop for speeding in mass and told my bd sae weren’t legal. Showed him the sae stamp no dice still told me they had to go. I left them... but you will attract a little attention doubt it would be the sole reason for a stop. Love the lights tho sae still has very poor if not any cut off

I just installed the Diode Dynamics SS3 Sports and could not be happier. Here is a comparison of them on and off with my stock headlights on in both photos. Granted, these photos were taken right when I installed and did not yet line them up properly, but you get the idea.

I was considering getting the CR pod ditch lights & mounts.
I’d Just like to buy lights once, are the diode dynamics equivalent to baja designs?

How were they illegal if they’re stamped sae? He easily could have been wrong.

Unless he was saying that they had to be covered or I’ve heard if you have too many lights. I’ve heard of that being randomly enforced at times.

Masshole Staties are pretty bad. I was ticketed on a three lane highway while driving in the middle lane for "Not keeping to the right" and I was the only car on the road.

Check that Fed regulation and see what it says. If it just refers to SAE marked equipment then he’s totally wrong.

Did he give you a summons or just spout that code?

Just a written warning with that code. Wouldn’t doubt that he was wrong. He wasn’t too interested in explaining why there weren’t street legal just that they weren’t.

You have to look up that Fed code first and if it states SAE are ok then you’re set.

Did you get the updated lenses BD sent out? This issue was corrected pretty early by BD, they sent mine to me pretty quick easy swap out.

I know the BD stuff is very expensive.

What was the problem with the Cali raised?

They're spot lights not actual fog lights. Amber gives this dark orange light its pretty hard to see. The yellow ones would probably be more brighter and more useful. I Just went with amber for the looks.
