And that falls in line with this assuming thats flywheel HP. That's slight more boost and no added drag of the supercharger is easily the 50 hp difference between them. The TQ difference is why I like turbos though...

But the point stands. If they wanted to up the boost, requiring more fuel, the cost of the system would go up significantly.

Stock shifting in the AT is a POS - that is probably the most significant improvement OVTune has made to the 3rd Gen AT for stock gearing and for those of us with 4.88's and 5.29's. If you are saying the "calibration" does not affect shifting pattern programming then Magnuson can count me in once CARB is issued. I've asked Magnuson this question and received a non-definitive answer - as if they don't know what the Calibration actually changes or does. It would be beneficial to all to have a factual and complete answer to this. Hopefully you can provide answers based on actual use.

If 3rd gen ECUs are at all like 2nd gen ECUs, then the calibration is most likely going to overwrite the stock trans tuning. Atleast on 2nd gen, it is all or nothing in terms of flashing the ecu. It is going to overwrite all the tables, not just the engine. It could be different in the 3rd gens. You may want to ask OVtune if he can offer tuning for the magnuson with his trans mapping. Although I think I heard he isn't doing tuning anymore which is weird but yeah.

It doesn't really work like that. If you have their tune flashed over OVT, you lose your shift points. You would need to read their tune off your ECM (if they haven't locked it out), and then export/import OVT shift tables into their tune. Or make friends and ask them if they will do it for you, assuming you won't be able to read your ECM after getting their tune flashed.

I think these numbers are higher than what we have posted.

The 2nd gen ECU and 3rd gen have some similarities, but more differences. The shifting control is similar, but the 3rd gen is like the 2nd gen + about 10x as many tables + a blender.

and to be clear to everyone here. We had nothing to do with Magnusons Calibration. They designed and calibrated it in house. They used vF Tuner tools to do so.

We changed what we offer. Instead of just offering tunes, we offer a very robust tuning / calibration platform. vF Tuner. Similar style tool to HP Tuners / ecutek / uprev / etc.

Rather than argue the price of our kit in this thread, it makes sense to think of it as a price to power. Because if you want to make similar power it's cost nearly the same, if not more, to produce the same amount of power out of the TVS1900. Fueling upgrades aren't cheaper just because it's not a turbo, so if you tack on $3k in fuel upgrades to a Magnuson you're at $10k practically.

anyways guys I hope you guys keep this thread about the SC. There is plenty of trucks for everyone to be happy with whatever FI option they buy without infighting. Our Turbo kit serves a purpose, the SC Serves another purpose.

hopefully they, Magnuson, learned enough from the Master - Mat @OVTune to figure out how to make the shifting logic perform as well as the 2.0 OVTune product. There is some glimmer of possibility and light. Time will tell.

Trying to follow a thread about a Magnuson supercharger install and I have to wade through two pages of fans and turbos. Could we stay on topic in just ONE thread? Just once? Anywhere? In the name of all that's holy, for the love of our families, for the honor of our ancestors, for the sake of everything that's good and right in the world, could we just talk about what the thread is about for fucks sake? AAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHH! Where's the Tylenol?

Ahh, it doesn't matter anymore. Watch, it will all devolve into a debate about the cultural implications of Macedonian nipple braiding or something. Save yourself.

    NEW INFO*****
the magnuson tune does compensate for your truck's Transmission, 2 vs 4 wheel drive, Tire size, Gear ratio, cold air intake and exhaust. these are all parameters they ask for when sending for the tune with magnuson.

it even corrects the speedo for the tire size and gear ratio.
