Does Toyota authorize a loaner vehicle for the frame CRC application/treatment procedure? I hear it takes a full day, maybe more.

Yes sir. I had a loaner for 4 days while mine was being done.

I needed a truck that week b/c I had to pick up my tractor so they gave me a F150 double cab. More than I could ever justify in my usual life but nice ride.

    Four days! Wow.

Local dealer said it would take them one full day. (Also mentioned they only schedule one per day - mine's in October.)

    Thanks for the input.

I need to go to work that day, which has restricted access, so I kinda need a vehicle that day.

Mine got the black spray coating, so not sure if your results will vary or if they're now doing the fill inside the frame. I have a 2010 and this was about 18 months ago. I wonder if it being a colder time of year required longer curing time perhaps, another possibility..

I did drop it off late Monday and it was ready Thurs morning come to think of it

    Hi all,

I received the Toyota Customer Support Program letter in the mail about the frame rust issue as well and have a few questions.
According to the letter my trucks VIN is covered by the program.
I lived in Oregon for the past 13 years and just recently moved to Vermont, so currently my frame is in excellent shape and it's rust free.

    - Is the Toyota undercoating spray process a one time deal, or will Toyota reapply it for free annually??

    - Does the frame have to have current rust issues to qualify for the undercoating, or will Toyota apply it free of charge as preventive maintenance under the program??

    - Is it ok to apply Fluid Film to the frame after Toyota applies the undercoating??

    - Are there any negative reactions between Fluid Film and the Toyota undercoating??

    Thanks!!

Toyota will treat the inside of the frame.you must have this done to preserve your warranty for frame rust perforation.spray fluid film at least once a year preferably around this time of year.

The Toyota spray is a one time deal.

No it will qualify for the spray regardless of rust or not.

Far as I know you can do Fluid Film but there's a curing time on the Toyota spray. To my knowledge, no interaction

Thanks so much for all the replies.
    I really appreciate it.

Called the closest Toyota dealer today and made an appointment for Sept 29.
Fingers crossed they get a shipment of the undercoating spray by then as the dealer is out and it's currently on back order.

Just a note. I bought my 01 double cab in Colorado and had it for ten years with no rust issue, moved to upstate New York and frame rusted out in 4 years. The type of salt along with relative moisture levels make a heck of a difference for sure. I'd take the CO mag chloride or whatever they use over what is used around Rochester any day! This place is the friggin rust capital! Never saw the amount of rust as there is here, yuck!

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
New York cars make Chicago rust buckets look good. They LOVE using brine up there. My buddies f150 was originally from New York and he bought it 4 years old. It was a 2012. It rotted to unsafe levels of rust and partially split by the bed in 2020… New York’s NASTY.

    So right Dan,
It's so bad that my tools and metal stuff inside my garage rust from how much crap they add to the roads from the little that falls to the floor throughout the winter. It's almost like it becomes aerosolized and moves all around, crazy! I'm waiting for them to come up with a Fluid Film bomb like an insect bomb for exterminating bugs that I can blow up in there and coat the hell out of everything. :crapstorm:

    Agree
It’s the same everywhere on the east coast. I’m just guessing, but maybe it’s because the snow is wetter and we get more icing conditions with the snowfall. I know our dirt roads in Maine have three inches of ice and nothing but calcium chloride and sand touches it.
My Toyota trucks have never rusted. But I paint the frame with wheel bearing grease and spray body panels and inside the frame with biodegradable oil. Otherwise, the Toyota’s would have started rusting by that ten years. Rust prevention is a yearly maintenance issue in the rust belt. It’s not a one time spray and forget it where ever roads are heavily salted.

I hear you. Had friend buy a GMC diesel for big bucks thinking he’d keep it for 20 years. In 6 years, he was putting new fenders, rockers and having his frame rebuilt . After just seven years, it was a clunker. He had a double whammy. He lived on the coast in the north with salted roads in the winter and salty ocean air in the summer . In the rust belt, if you don’t rinse your frame EVERYTIME you wash your truck and treat it and body panels yearly, it’s worth nothing…..rust will total your truck just like an accident…..only worse. .

I hear you. But remember, fluid film is ridiculously over priced and still has to be inspected and reapplied. I just use biodegradable motor oil and reapply it yearly….it’s a maintenance item just like washing and waxing and chang8ng your oil. Few of us crawl under a car any more….that’s why they rust.

Let me adjust the post a little. Everything is rusting regardless of what we do for treatments. All we’re doing is slowing it down.
