It's what some dealerships use for buying cars, am currently signing over my truck as Honda gave me 26k for the truck...

 

I too have a great offer from Carvana but look at the prices on new Tacos and you'll see that it's not a great deal if you are gonna buy another one.

 

Checked Carvana this morning and my “Sell” it to them offer was $34k on my 2018 Pro. Went to CarMax afterwards and they gave me an offer of $40k

 

don't put your number in the kbb one lmao did it right after reading this and i've had 4 dealers call me within 20 minutes. WHOOPS

and their cash offer was 3k less than carvana, but w/ carvana i'd have to drive to sacramento

 

no way I’d be selling that beautiful cav blue for anything less than $40k

 

I checked carmax, which is local to me, and they were $1500 less than carvana.

 

My Carvana offer is $40,218 for 2019 TRD Sport DCSB in Cement with SEMA wheels. Only 8000 miles on it.

 

Is that trade-in or sell outright?

 

KBB Trade in Value was about $4k less than what Carvana was ready to pay right now. I had an SR 2WD 4 cylinder and believe it or not, those things are always gone within days around here. I've been following base Tacomas since I had one in 06. I suspect they will sell it for over retail in a day or two plus whatever extended Warranties and finance profit they can soak the buyer for. They are currently selling a truck just like mine but white and 5000 miles. for $28990 that has a Window sticker of $25,400. They will make $4k off the deal by finding someone willing to pay $4,000 more than New prices for a used truck. Some people hate dealers soo much they will pay extra not to have to see one. Carmax did the same thing but with Covid desperate people are willing to pay whatever it takes.

 

Sell outright but I have to drive 450 miles to get it to the closest drop off point.

 

Carvana picked up my taco today. Guy knocked the door, handed me a clipboard to sign all the documents, inspected the truck, drove it for 5 minutes and the deal was done. They left the truck on my driveway for 4 hours and a towing company took it away. Very easy and pleasant experience with Carvana.

 

Looks like Carvana in my area is adding a $4600 premium on top of the price.

I feel like Carvana will not be in business long term. Overpaying for cars and gimmicks like vending machines.....i see them going under in a few years.

 

I see it as taking the used inventory off dealership's hands. The convenience they provide is un matched, don't see them going away any time soon tbh.

It seems that all Toyota's are in-demand right now with Carvana. My GF is thinking about selling or trading-in her '13 Highlander on probably another Highlander or a Rav4. Her offer was $12,300 with a 2K increase for 'local area adjustment' (or whatever they call it). I don't track values for used Highlander's but it sounds like a fair deal for a car which is kind of beat-up. She's mulling it over.

 

I hope those who are selling to Carvana or other companies have another vehicle to drive for a while. With the selling prices of current used and new vehicles you wont be getting anywhere financially if u have to buy a replacement.

 

Out of curiosity i put in my 2nd gen to see the offer and got a whopping $3500

 

Tell me about your 2nd gen. I have a 06 dcsb 4x4 trd sport and I was offered just under 9k.
Edited to add I have 182k miles

 

07 aclb prerunner w/ 200,000 miles. Major dents and scratches lol. Upgraded suspension, wheels, tires, head unit and shell. It makes sense its just insulting hahaha.
