Why do people feel the need to make rude or ignorant comments when someone asks questions? If you don't have a legitimate comment then why comment at all?

Noneck180 in particular I don't need dumb remarks or you pming me with rude comments. There is no need for it. I understand you getting frustrated with questions being repeatedly asked but the people on this forum are more knowledgeable then any salesman at a dealer. If everyone went to the dealership with their questions about modding your tacoma's then why have the forums in the first place? Please leave your rude comments to yourself. Thanks

yeah sometimes people can get a little outta hand with the same questions posted over and over especially the ones that a search will easily resolve. which i usually just skip over and move onto something interesting and i would say PMing you to bitch about shit is way over the line lol but you know people talk real big from their keyboard.

but my advice is if you dont wanna get bitched at then do a little researching so when someone comes at you like that you got a little ammo for them

believe it or not i would say this is the most laid back easy going forum for tacomas to be asking questions. you would get eaten alive in some of the others if your not doing a SAS or crazy fabrication lol

main idea: dont let people thousands of miles away get to you

Agreed... the few who don't want to see the 'same stuff' are far outnumbered by all the others and newbies who haven't seen it before. If you don't like the subject, there are plenty of other topics to read about.

    Yeah that^^

And most people will just post "did you search it first". We realize people are new and have some of the same questions most of us did day one of our visit to TW. But after a while it gets tiring of answering the age old question of "what is the biggest tire I can put on my 07 Sport" and "what lift should I get" the search will answer 99% of the new peoples questions and if not then is the time to post your question up for the people of TW to answer for you.

I doubt many people will tell you to go to a dealer for the majority of questions. There are some times that warranty coverage might apply but that's about the only time.
Telling you to serach...That'll probably happen- Most of the questions have been covered before...A little time looking around usually results in answers or at least specific questions.
    Rude has no place...

and Jester has the right idea.

You only posted 3 threads including this one and Noneck commented in one of them... PM's are a different story, if they're harrassing then report it but it didn't seem like his public comment was anything to get all bent out of shape about. This is a public forum which means you'll get a range of personalities. I just ignore the comments I don't agree with and move on. FYI, you can block posts by certain members if their comments irritate you.

Very true... search works... but let's not blow out the newbies by yelling at them for not using search first.

Afterall... them posting those questions does not take away from our ability to read and post here... It isn't a pie with limited slices, it is a wide open sky with endless opportunity.

The problem with the wide open sky theory is that good information gets diluted. There have been great answers...Maybe one or two posts in one thread that cover a lot of the highlight recurring questions. And those posts get buried under 5 more and then 5 more and then 5 more threads on the same topic.

Sure... just avoid coming into a thread asking for opinions from owners of a paticular model, saying that system sucks, when you don't drive a model with that system... okay?

I promiss to not trash-talk the fake hood scoop, anymore!:D:rolleyes:
