That being said, the Tacoma transfer case isn’t geared low enough for a manual to be pleasant in the rocks. But that’s a personal preference

 

It's a lot of fun building everything yourself. My Samurai I have rebuilt everything on it and about to move the front and rear axles 12 inches so a lot of metal work coming.

 

When you throw 4.88 gears in the diff it sure helps. I've had no issue with it and love the control that comes with a manual.

 

I bet the gears do help a lot. I would have a super strong itch for a crawl box with a manual so I never really had to feather the clutch.

 

I want one but oooof, that price tag. I'd probably break something too with all that torque too, being in low-low lol

 

My 4lo in my 2nd gen is plenty low for me. I feel like I could climb a wall if I had the traction! Great control, but then again, I’ve only ever ran 32” tires on it too.

I've really wanted an ultragauge I think they monitor trans temp now.

Did you order parts from poly performance? And how much oil to buy?

Im gonna probably order a seal kit and some parts and get ready to, hoping my radiator support bushing fix my squeak. If not gonna try uniballs/shock mounts then if not rebuild um.

everything was ordered from poly performance. I ordered a gallon of oil but didn’t need all of it.

 

Highly unlikely that any seals or internal shock components are squeaking. My guess would be the spherical bearings on your coilovers. There is a lot of weight in them, and when they go bad they squeak like crazy.

 

Cool so you got some oil leftover whenever I get ready I can buy from ya? Did you just contact them and say you needed a seal kit for 2.5 kings or what kinda info do I need to take to um? Yea im gonna take my shocks out next opportunity I get and see if its those or uniballs have slack.

King seal kits are universal by shock body diameter and shaft diameter. You can tell them what you have and they will work up an invoice for you or I can send you what I got when you get ready.
