Clutch groans when depressed

    The clutch groans when I depress the pedal. It sounds like a heavily rusted door hinge and I can feel it through the pedal. It just started this two days ago.

    Probably the bushings for the pedal. I believe there is a wright up around here somewhere to lube them.

    Yep mine does it too. Due for some grease.

    Thank you for the link to the bushing repair. Once I removed the clutch assembly, I found that the bushings that fit over the ends of the spring were also coming apart. They have become brittle and have allowed the spring to rub against the assembly hole in which it sits. Always something else.

    I think everyone's pedal does this. It just needs a shot of white lithium grease. I lube mine every few months w/ a quick shot of grease. It tends to squeak more when it's warm/hot outside.

    How will that affect the edges of the hole where the spring attaches? It looks like it has already caused some wearing. I'd hate to have to replace the clutch assembly.
