    It's basically a belly band.

I tried one myself few years ago. Was not a fan.

Do you wear a waist belt when on your hiking/camping adventures?
If so you negate any chance of quick access....or comfort.

I don't wear a waist belt while hiking/camping. Typically I'll wear athletic wear of some type. I'm open to suggestions and I'll check that link out. Thanks.

These were like more than half the price of vz grips.
If you're interested I can do some digging and find out where I got them from and how much.

I think he's referring to your packs hip belt when back packing, which I assume you will have one. That's going to make carrying on the waist anywhere near impossible. Chest rig is my suggestion.

Oh ok. I didn’t pick up on that. No I don’t think my backpack has a hip belt.

Would highly suggest a pack that has a hip belt if you're hiking any sort of long distance with some weight. You're hip belt is what carries most of your load. If you don't have one and a heavy pack, well than you are a tougher man than I.

I’m not planning on doing any lengthy hiking. Only some day hikes. I’m going on a week long camping trip with short little day hikes. I expect my pack to be light. I’m not an experienced hiker in any way.

They look like lok grips. Yes they're cheaper that VZs. I'm buying Lok.
