Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
Wonder in white distilled vinegar would work on chrome without hurting the plastic. I used it to degalvanize tie down handles in the bed and paint black. Left it outside in the sun for a few hours and the plating just chunked off. Cheaper than using cold galvanizing primer.

They need to re-think the location of that top bolt facing the cab. What a PITA when you have meat hooks for hands.

I ended up mounting mine off center because I didn’t know how to remove that screw in the middle where yours is mounted. It’s bugging me still months later so I try not to look at it.

I agree that was one of the trickier parts- what I did was drilled a pilot hole too far fwd and found the same thing, then just expanded it backwards and almost created a slot- the Nakita camera I used pushes against that screw a bit but I think it might be a mold injection point and so I used a knife to file it down. Also for anyone else who does the mod, I went in through the passenger grommet and didn’t unscrew glovebox or anything- if you stay toward the side the wires from the engine compartment can be pulled through right where the passenger side foot panel under the glove box has a gap. Also my setup had extra wires for rear camera input/power I did not need so just closed those off. 2 hr job—hardest time was just getting through the rubber grommet

Got a Thule Motion XT XL. Think it’ll be good for ski season with the dogs in the bed.

I really like the look of your truck -- understated, yet rugged. I have a 2020 TRD OR in the same color. Initially I was thinking of changing the wheels to black and then possibly doing the black out of the Tacoma. But the more I think about it the more I kind of like the stock wheels (I swapped the tires to the Nittos) and maybe I will leave the chrome. I do think the chrome Tacoma ties in nicely to your wheels and it is nice to see someone going in a non-black direction. Great color and it really works. Also like how the OEM roof rack looks as well. Thanks for the inspiration !

Yes sir, Thank you. BHLM. I did it myself, never done before. very tough mod but well worth it in the end. Give yourself a few days and a full 24hours for paint to dry. get legit retro rubber and clean out the old stuff before re sealing.
