I get about 280 - 300 miles per tank, from gas light to gas light. No idea what that is in MPG, but it's not good. lol

    Welcome to Taco gas suction.

I have 33 in. tires. Was averaging 15.5 mpg.

Just swapped the rear diff to 5.29 ratio to aid in fuel consumption and keep the trans from hunting all the time. So far, it's driving like a different truck.

That's exactly what my truck does too and I don't get it. It makes me feel as if it isn't good for the truck so I just turn the cruise off completely. A little annoying. Does anyone know if you can disable the radar cruise and just go with the traditional cruise control? That's my preference.

4x2 or 4x4? Best I've done in one trip is 25.8. Not bad for a TRD Off Road 4x4. I typically get low 20's though and I don't completely baby it.

That's around 15.7 MPG (figuring on 300 miles and 2 gallon reserve when the light comes on).

Maybe should have installed the Prius package instead of 35’s?

I seem to average 18.5-ish which is about 50/50 hwy/city. Did get a smige over 25 on a Vegas run before the COVID curtain fell on the sheep. Pretty much stock except for stock size 16” Wildpeaks (P rated) with Method Wheels, TRD intake and exhaust.

Oh and ceramic coat on the paint....that must be the difference, high speed, low drag.

    Yes:
    http://toyota.custhelp.com/app/answ...te-the-adaptive-cruise-control-in-my-vehicle?

But why? With regular cruise you’re going to have to either push the button or tap your break to disable cruise when you come up on a slower vehicle. With adaptive cruise on, your truck will slow down for you, and you can always push the button to turn it off to pass at the speed you want then push the button to turn it back on. Either way your turning it off momentarily.

Yeah, one trip and I don't even know what I did right lol. I took a photo of it though because I was impressed. (It was relatively flat and not all downhill either)

He means on a single trip not for the tank, the best l can remember seeing in my truck on a single trip was 26.9 on a casual drive to a convenience store.

The problem is, the truck starts slowing down WAY before I'm even close to a car/truck. It senses it way too far off. It's as if my truck is already slowing down 3 school-bus lengths away. Does that make any sense?

Do you have it set to the shortest follow distance? If you’ve never changed it from the default, you should:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/dynamic-radar-cruise-control-default-following-distance.548195/
We have the same adaptive cruise in my wife’s Prius and it’s too jerky for my sensibilities. (Other car manufacturers have better programming.)

I had no idea you could even adjust the distance. That's a huge help. Thanks fellas. These modern vehicles with all these bells and whistles is still over my head. I'm still learning.

I think I hit "28mpg" on that display when I was mostly coasting downhill on I-80 from Truckee to Sacramento. lol

Check your tire pressure, replace the rear differential oil (go full synthetic)...limit on how much stuff you're carrying, any RTT, side rack with fuel cans, etc affect aerodynamics...and don't drive like it's a Porsche!
Fuel economy is not worse than competitors vehicles...in some cases it's better.
