That's good to know. I always just assumed it would be a potential issue, but hadn't heard any real-world experience.

Price please. would like to see that available as an option on the kit! I think I would buy it. Will solve the problem of no front skid, until I cut off the forward frame crossmember, relocate up, and build a skid in a similar way that goes all the way to the bumper itself, which would also have to be modified to suit. I've already adapted my rear skid plate to connect to JD fab one. Will be able to further modify and gain clearance once I reroute my dang exhaust.

on a more serious note. Maybe I need to go back and read, but, if you move the lowers forward with the spacers does a custom upper need to pair up, or could I still use my JBA’s?

if i have read it right you should be able to use your jba which has 4 degrees built into it. if you look on to the jdfabrication site the uppers have less than 4 built into them because with the new pivot moving forward puts the caster.

 

With too much caster your steering wheel won’t return to center. UCAs improve/add caster by moving the wheel back (towards the cab) whereas this LCA kit improves caster by pushing the wheel forward which is what you want to clear larger tires without hacking up so much of your truck

 

I was just joking. I have no plans to run 37’s. Trimming and cutting for 35’s has been enough work, I don’t want to hack off more stuff.

 

You can run whatever upper arm you want. The problem with a caster adjusted upper arm is its robbing you of tire clearance and defeating the point to the LCA kit. If you want the most clearance and correct amount of caster then you would want to get the specific upper arm we make. The upper that’s designed to be paired with the LCA kit uses stock geometry and the increased caster comes from the lower arm... this gets the tire as far away from the cab mount as possible.

We also make a caster adjusted upper arm that is designed to be run with the stock lower arm mounts for guys that run 285’s or smaller.

 

Gotcha. I was just throwing that out there as I just finished fitting my 37s and the firewall was only about half of the work
