New Pioneer DMH-WC6600NEX flush mount install

Anyone with recommendations on usb right angle adaptors?

 

Here's what I've got.

I just used this and plugged it into the back of the HU and then plugged the adaptor from the truck into it. Works perfectly.

ah, c to c right angle then the supplied c to usb-a. I was digging around for a single c to a guy and wasn’t sure if it should go vertical or to the side for minimizing mounting depth.

 

Pioneer provided a C to A adaptor in the package, but I use this 90 degrees adaptor to avoid the C to A with extension USB cable touching the firewall behind the dash.

 

I think this is the ultimate solution!

 

I used the 90's shown above. Did not have room for the sraight connection. Even the 90's are not that small. If you are right up against that white plastic wire chase behind the stereo the 90 fits best. I trimmed a corner out of the white plastic chase and used split loom to cover the wires I exposed. The 90 does not touch anything now. Hope this helps.

 

Thanks for all the feedback on usb. Would something like this guy be the potential best-of-all since it's 90, compact, and right angle without needing the extra adapter?

I suppose I really need to figure out how much clearance I actually do have which I suppose may be a product of how I do the mounting brackets? Is it possible to perhaps mount the big piece at a slight incline so that it has more space behind it due to using the diagonal vs going straight back?

Just got my maestro, yay! Next task is to solder / heat shrink the harnesses.

 

Just finished install. The USB to stock adapter does not work on 2020 non jbl. Anybody know of alternative?
I also modified oem bracket by drilling additional holes. It is pretty flush.
I was having difficulty connecting to the app. I finally got it. I’m not sure what I did but it connected. I hope it will again in the future.

 

I don't know what I did different mounting mine but it is flush and I didn't need a right angle usb adapter. I just used the one I posted earlier and I had plenty of room to let it go straight back and plug into the usb adaptor on the truck harness.

 

I have a 2018 and I used that USB adapter. Wasn't aware that the 2020 was different, sorry.

 

Idatalink offers a different adapter, pop in your vehicle info on their website for the correct one.

 

If you have the WC6600 you should have plenty of room behind the unit. I think the people needing the right angle adapter went with the WT7600. I installed the WC6600 and mounted it a little farther back on the stock brackets, then used 3/8" washers to shim the unit to get the perfect flush fit.

Also an update to my question a few pages back about how do you set the time. It was mentioned that this is set by the GPS, however my unit never set the time. after driving for 2+ weeks. I just figured out today, that it will set once you connect to Wifi/hotspot.

 

Has anyone figured out how to flash the RR2 via Bluetooth? I can’t seem to find the app in the App Store or on their website. My first flash made everything work but didn’t program the seek buttons for some reason....

Second question, google maps always freezes it’s location unless i also have the app open on my phone. This didn’t happen with my last unit the 4400 on CarPlay but I used the pioneer gps antenna with that one. On this one i used the adapter to the factory gps antenna. Anyone else have that problem?

finally I think the audio quality problem I’m having with Siri is because I’m using amplified speakers. It sounds like the speakers are out of time sync or something, I can’t figure it out.

 

Oh and I have an extra TO2 harness and set of adapters I’ll sell for $50 for the whole set, that includes the USB adapter

 

hey dude - so you connected that cig lighter directly to battery and ran it through firewall and left it behind head unit?

 

@MikeyL5 No, it does not come from the battery. I ran an add a circuit to behind the switches below the ac controls. this circuit tapp comes from the fuse panel under the dash to the left of the steering wheel. This new circuit feeds a dual usb that i added into the switch locations below the ac. I tapped into this same circuit for the female cig adapter and ran it up to the stereo. Actually sits right on top of the pioneer deck with the firestick. Plugged into the cig adapter is a Samsung male cig usb power supply. This way it still is fused, and I can replace the usb plug if it goes bad.

Where are the RCA CONNECTIONS ON A JBL taco?

 

Trying to understand your question. What RCA connections are u looking for? The wiring on the oem harnesses does not have any rca connections. I believe you will plug the gray and white wires with the male ends from the maestro unit into the front rca connections in the pioneer to refers the jbl amp. This should power all of the speakers. I believe. Check out the maestro installation instructions for the 16-19 Tacoma with jbl. If I’m not answering the correct question, let me know. Hope this helps
