I would have a much larger truck, fueled by diesel, if that were the case.

Define "streetable" It has a license plate, is registered, passed smog.

I've been on the freeway a couple of times with minimal issues. Hydroassist hides the castor induced steering problems.

I love when that Hilux and the model following that one are decked out safari style.... Like with a softopper and the sides and back of topper are rolled up.:D
Couldn't quickly find a pic of the Hilux with rolled up top so kindly accept a 1st gen Hilux Surf or 4Runner with the correct look:cool:

The body shop sent another preview this afternoon. They will finish detailing it tomorrow.

This quicksand color has the right tones to blend with the white pearl.

So it's safe to say that the cone bumps are pretty worthless to protect the shocks from bottoming out?

It's so easy to figure out on the rear of a Tacoma, since it's just a bump stop sitting under the u bolts on the axle, with the shock right next to them.

With the 4R, I'd hate to bottom out and kill my King shocks which is why I was asking about the bumpstops, without knowing which of the 2 sets really matter.

Got any pictures of the rear of your 4R?

Yes to the cone bumps being pretty worthless. Any change to the coil height and you ultimately change the distance from the cone bump to the axle, since the cone bump is always in the same spot. Hopefully this makes sense.

Did you go with Kings specifically for a 3rd gen 4Runner in factory location? Or 4th gen Kings? What coils are you planned on going with?

I can get some pictures, I'm waiting to throw new bumpstops and new shocks on but I can send you what I'm working with. What exactly are you trying to see?

Went with the Kings meant for a 3rd gen since I want to maintain similar uptravel to stock.

The compressed length is pretty damn close to stock, but of course the extended length is even longer which will provide the additional droop needed. They're supposed to compliment the 906 springs pretty well too, at least on paper.

I just wanted to see your setup out of curiosity, not too many 4Rs on here (done correctly that is).

I'll check out those Durobumps as well seeing as how that's the last piece to the whole puzzle in my build.

    Yeah thats an absolute gem.
Those wheels look like OEM Land Cruiser 40 series wheels.
Are those stock Hilux wheels? Anyone know off hand?

If you're going 906s, there's definitely no need for an extended bump. You won't get any up travel with them. The 3.5" sound like they'd be just about perfect for you.

My rear end is actually about to undergo a pretty big makeover, front is going to get a pretty big refresh too. Want to run a few trails next year that will require a bit more work to the 4Runner. I'll grab some current pictures now, but be warned that a lot of it is changing.
