    It can be used for that and also getting the illumination circuit to aftermarket switches. If you add an on-off-on switch as @caribe makaira shows in the first post, you can have your cargo light come on with the dome lights.

    Left of the steering wheel where the cargo light switch would be (if you had one). If you don't have the switch, the wiring for it is still there. You just pop out the little cubby and it's back there plugged into a dummy slot.

    So is this meant to be used for purely for illuminating an aftermarket switch like the oem buttons do?

    Either way, I'm still in. I love plug and play and not cutting oem wires.

    Works with SR's that do not have the Fog switch stalk.
    Other Toyota fog switches also...Amber illumination can be changed to Blue.

    I have this exact 6 Pods LED rock light that I purchase, I know this is a dumb Idea but can I just tap the pod lights on rear cargo light So when I unlock\lock or open the door those pod light will come on. Please advise

    The info on Amazon states "High Quality: die-cast aluminum housing 6 pods (3 chips every pod) CREE chips (3W every chip)", so 54Watts = 4.5A added to the circuit. I'd say add a hot fuse and relay and use the bed & cargo lamp (+) as a trigger. You'll still get the effect you are looking for without over tasking the carg0 & bed circuit.
