I went out and peeled mine - came off with no residue. Now, if only you could get the ones off the visors.

I got a Smittybilt visor accessory that covers up mine, and I use it to hold a knife, pens, flashlight, etc.

I like the look - but hate giving up the illumination.

RAV4 knobs keep the illumination and grip so much better.

I have a build date tomorrow (8/14), but don't have a delivery date yet. The wait is killing me...

Congratulations!!! Your dealer will have the info within a day or so of manufacture. They can provide you with a screenshot from their data system that will give you an idea of when it should arrive. This is from mine:

I did the AC drain mod and the glovebox lock blackout, yesterday. Then I had to relax at the pool to recover from all that hard work.

Picking ours up in Dallas on the 26th. Truck is already there!

Just released an automatic back to Darcars in Silver Springs Maryland. Gets there on August 24th. Well, we haven’t gotten the deposit back on it yet, but I’m hopeful. So, please, someone else buy it. At MSRP.

Order a kit from Dr. Color Chip - best paint touch-up system ever. I've got one for my truck and have used it on my BMW Z3 for years.

Another question for you folks who seem to know everything:

I have my full VIN now as my truck was built and it is on the way to my dealer. The My Toyota website gave me these details about my truck:

    • CJ Bed Mat Port
    • DR Roof Rack Port
    • FE 50 State Emissions Factory
    • MF Mudguards Port
    • R2 5" Oval Tube Step - Black Port
    • T7 Tailgate Emblem Port
    • T9 Remote Tailgate Lock Port
    • TR TRD PRO Package Factory

My question is, I did order my truck with the bed mat, mudguards, and the oval tube steps. (All at invoice price)

I did not however, order a roof rack or the remote tailgate lock. I was planning on buying the tailgate lock and installing it myself to save labor cost, because my salesman told me they add those at the dealer. Could it be that the website is wrong about my installed options? Did I just get the tailgate remote lock for free since I did not ask for it? Not sure I even want the roof rack bars as I don't think I'll ever need them. Not sure what the tailgate emblem is either. Wouldn't that be a part of the Pro package?

Did you already receive a spec sheet that indicated the specifications of the truck? Your dealer could have provided you with that when they received their allocation for the Tacoma. Were you already given the sales price?

The way Toyota works is that the buyer doesn't really "order" a specific build. Each dealership is allocated a certain number of vehicles during the year based on volume of sales. When the dealership receives an allocation they can either take it in for sales off the lot or can designate it for an individual. In either case, the dealership inputs what options they want on the vehicle before it arrives at the dealership. Those could be options that are popular in the case of a lot sale, or they could be options a buyer specifies when they designate an allocation for a specific buyer. Dealerships receive allocations months ahead of the build dates to give them time to configure them. For example, my dealership received the allocation for my truck in early November for a late January build. COVID obviously lengthened the process so I don't know how long ago they received the allocation for your truck.

Since I also don't know how long ago you began your discussion with the dealership for the AG Pro, I'll assume that they are being honest with you (although they should have already told you what options were specified for your truck). The port options you see were specified for installation by the dealership at some point before production - either when they accepted the allocation or when they added options you asked for...or somewhere in between. In either case, they could have provided you with a printout that looked like what you see on the Toyota web site from the day you agreed to purchase the truck - mine did.

Depending on where the truck is in the shipment process, they may be able to make changes to the Port installed options - in your case that is in Baltimore. I would suggest that you have a discussion today with your dealership.

The reality is that they've known what options would be on your truck for a long time and, unless you have a spec sheet with the configuration and final sales price of your truck the options aren't free...unless perhaps your dealer either planned to or will agree to give them to you as part of the already agreed price. That needs to be part of your discussion.

Honestly, the tailgate lock to me is worth having it installed at the port. The TOYOTA letters on the tailgate are normally just painted the color of the vehicle - the emblem adds black lettering and is an option.

Hope this helps. You need to take a copy of the spec sheet with you to the dealer and have a conversation today.
