I’m reaching out on here to see if I can get some potential help.

Is anyone looking for a Great dog that enjoys riding along in a truck?
My wife and myself has made the very difficult decision to rehome one of our dogs. Our life has drastically changed in the last two years as we now have a two year old and a 5 month old. The dog we are seeking to rehome is a high energy pittie mix that unintentionally knocks over our toddler, and between work and two kids we simply can not provide her with the needed attention that is needed and our fence in yard is not as secured as we wish, giving the Sky possibility to escape, in which she does occasionally. She is now crossing over a very busy highway and I fear the worse. Please before anyone jumps on the dogs are family podium, I will say I agree with you 100%. However sometimes with family you have to make hard choices for the betterment of everyone involved. This decision wasn’t reached without much deliberation and hesitation, and has not been an easy decision to make.

Meet Sky everyone. Sky is middle age around 5 years(she was rescue and exact age is unknown), and is up to date on her vet visits. Also is currently on flea and heart worm prevention. Sky is spaded and house trained and loves to fetch and play tug of war. High energy. She is an Alpha or what I call a wannabe alpha. She does well with other dogs as long as they are submissive and will do ok with another alpha after they figure out who is alpha. Sky would probably do very well with a family that has older children or an active couple or single adult.
yes I still care about Sky and want to know she is going to a great home. Preferably one that has a Strong fence in yard. I am not interested in just turning her over tot he first person who shows interest. I want to be able to vet the potential fur parent(s) to make sure the environment is safe for Sky. If you are interested, know of anyone who would be, or know of a great foster system that could help please message me. ( I refuse to take her to a shelter for obvious reasons. )2E6737CB-F5F7-4808-8308-B86C7ED7DE8D.jpg

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I will most certainly ask my close friends. I wish you the best during this very difficult time.

This sucks - sorry man! I am asking around; one of my best friends adopted a pit mix a few years ago ...named Sky.

Thank you. I was afraid to even post this. I have seen people get shredded by key board warriors over this very topic, who have no clue as to what is going in someone's life. Thanks for being supportive.

Agreed those people are idiots -my dogs are truly members of my family - our first ( four legged) kids as my wife and I say. I have spent countless hours (and a ton of $$$) on giving them a better life than a lot of kids have (very sad not a joke, but is reality).

That being said [I didn't fully understand this until I was a father] but there isn't ANYTHING in this world more important to me than my kid. It is my responsibility and privilege to provide the best environment possible for him. I ( like you) will exhaust every other option first, but I will not think twice about choosing my kid over my dogs if/when it comes down to it.

Anyone who says otherwise doesn't have kids and/or is an idiot and I feel sorry for their kids.

There was a member who was making them. I believe it was atthehelm
I went with his over over TC. They looked like they would provide more support was my reasoning.

Bottle Opener is a plus. Also they don’t interfere with some drawers system...not that your BroLanding!

I’ve yet to see conclusive evidence to convince me they’re necessary. Going on 11 yrs now with fiberglass Tacoma beds and toppers and have not seen a need personally.

All that said, they all seem to be pretty much the same. ‘Best’ might be a stretch.

Just pick whichever $100+ tie down points and bottle opener configuration tickles your fancy.

I hear ya and good points. I’m not sure I need them I probably can get away without them. I am thinking of when I load down the top of the camper rack with a big load? Possibly also if I find a RTT I like/can afford.

Here’s a link for the ones I have. I was mistaken in my earlier post. The TC go up higher and some felt they gave better support. I opted for this brand bc of price point and I knew it would work with the bed platform I had at the time.
Does it help. I don’t know. I considered it cheap insurance that gave me tie down points and bottle openers I will never use.

    Is your bed splitting?

They're a waste of money. It's a solution to a problem that exists in 0.01% of tacos.

I have a high-rise top with a rack and toolbox full of crap and never felt the need for them. I'd spend the money elsewhere. Unless it makes you happy to spend them on them - it's just money after all. ;)

I went with Rago stiffeners. Really happy with them! Great company to work with, quick shipping, and veteran owned. great. Plus you can sometimes find blems on sale or find a 5-10% off coupon codes. I liked the fact that they didn’t go up as high as some of the others and are lower profile.

My truck has had a camper on it for the past 4 1/2 years and I regularly carry 2 heavy kayaks or a heavy canoe up there and there were definitely some wider gaps at top of the tailgate and bedsides. Figured for ~ $100, it was worth the piece of mind!

    Same crap everyone else got
I have ATH ones too. I have a topper and did notice the gap on the side of my tail gate starting to noticeably widen towards the top. I don't know if it was like that before the shell but it is definitely much wider at the top than the botton on one side. I used my dads tacoma to to compare as he's had his since 08 and never had a shell. His gap on either side is very small and uniform through out. After getting the ATH ones and installing, i haven't seen the gap increase. That's not to say it would have anyways so who knows. I will say after seeing the TC ones that go all the way up and examining where the bed actually starts to split, I would go with TC if I had to do it again. They are inexpensive mods relative to most vehicle mods. Plus the provide more tie down points which is mostly what I use mine for. I strung a cargo net across mine so I can just lift my hatch and put stuff between the net and tailgate and not worry about it moving around.

Edit. Added pics of the gap. You can see it increase from the bottom to the top. My dad's tailgate didn't have that gap.

It's my understanding that beer is hard to find? You might want to consider selling it on Georgia Classifieds or just keep it and drink it? :notsure:
