Sorry for the stupid question, and sorry if this is in the wrong place, but do any of you guys that know what you're doing ever design and print stuff for other people? For a fee, of course. I don't expect anything for free. looking for 3 small pieces, and the seem kind of simple to me (though I know NOTHING about 3d printing). If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll try to explain/draw what I'm looking for. Thanks!

I don't mind taking a stab at whatever you want. I wouldn't ask for money outside of whatever it would cost to ship it. The catch is that it might take me a while to get to it, not like months or anything but days or a week or two depending on what I've got going on in life.

If you post what you want here, there's a good chance someone will try and make it for you if not me.

DG92071, Did anything come of this question? I also know nothing of 3D Printing, but I will be swapping out my stock front door speakers for 6x9s in the near future so I'm interested in the potential of improving that install.

I am looking to make some footwell light holders for the rear seat. Here is a rough idea of what I’m looking to do:9075F729-4F94-475F-B2CD-89086F2FE0AB.jpg
Basically it is just a wedge that I will drill a hole into (or could probably be printed into it) that can snap into the seat hinge on a 3rd gen. It’s only going to hold a tiny light, but it may get kicked every now and then unintentionally, so not too thin. Would like to do three of them. If it turns out good, this will be an easy way to add footwell lighting if you have the Meso puddle pods already, so you might be able to produce them for other people. I can get more detailed drawings with the corner radius and more precise measurements if this is something someone would be interested in?

Do you have a picture of the spot you want this to fit in? I have a 2nd gen and I think it's got holes/square cutouts in the hinges, but I'm not 100% sure if they'd be the same.

    Seems simple enough.

Do you have an example of what kind of light you'd want an opening for?

You'd want it printed with the hole in the design. If you were to drill that hole out, you'd see what all the infill is inside, which isn't as strong as having a wall as the hole.

No. I'll have to make them out of fiberglass.

Been working on a little side thing designing iron heads for golf. Making them per the USGA equipment guidelines... but they will look different from conventional iron heads. Don't want to give too much away, lol. Printed my first head, a 5 iron... will show pics once I get a full set done. Hopefully try and sell these later on.

After fighting and fighting failed petg prints ad nauseum when my first 4 or 5 went better than I expected, I finally realized or think what has happened. The spool of petg has absorbed enough moisture to not want to adhere to the bed and only make a gooey ball at the hot end. I know what I'll be doing after work today. :bananadead:

Do you hear any hissing or popping while extruding the petg? In my experience moisture has only affected surface finish.

A food dehydrator can be used to dry the filament out. Best bet to prevent having to dry filament is to store in an air tight box with desiccant inside. You can buy it in bulk on Amazon and/or save all those ramen spice packets from shoes, electronics, etc.

Not untill after I started researching it while i all but threw the printer across my garage as it was making spaghetti, did I notice the hissing and occasional pop as it was extruded. I've got a vacuum saver than my wife and I got as a wedding gift which we still haven't used 2yrs later so once I get it dried out, I'll be vac sealing it up until I use it more.

I feel your pain. That's why I tell most people who ask about the multitude of Chinesium 3d printers that they are not a tool, they are a hobby. I almost gave up on it myself until I designed and machined my own.

Amen, if mine sits for more than a week, it's tinkering time. If I ever get into printing useful things I'd like to build my own design from scratch. My chinesium printer does just fine for printing junk and models every so often though :D

Unless you are going large format, you're better off going with something like a Raise3d. It's been a while since I looked, but last I saw there were no larger ones that I would consider purchasing, until you get into the $100k+ machines.

I do like the build volume of my flsun cube, 250x250x350cm, plus dual extruders for $300 is hard to beat even with having to do a bit of tinkering. Buying any production level printers is out of the question for me. I'd rather build my own with higher quality parts if I ever decide to upgrade, but like I said, that'll have to wait until I can find a legitimate use for my printer.
