Well you've got real shit to do like keeping people out of prison and keeping the arms of justice balanced.

I'm not making a definitive argument, but kind of asking why one wouldn't eat more fat as they lean out and maybe would argue it would be less of a miserable experience if one did consume more fat. But I have zero experience as a bodybuilder leaning down for a show, I only have my experience of getting leanish for general life, which is totally different. So kind of wondering if there is some value in my experience with it or something I'm totally missing.

My hypothesis is that this has a lot to do with it. I think the low dietary fat, high protein diets of most bodybuilders are built around fears of losing mass and getting fat on fat (which is totally made up by protein supplement companies and the food industry).

We know that excessive protein intake is not necessary, and can potentially be harmful when it comes to performance (not health perse) but the practice of these excessive protein intakes prevails, again out of superstition more than anything. I'm wondering when the fitness world will catch up with the science that even 1g per pound of body weight is beyond excessive (in an iso or hyper caloric state) and unnecessary, let alone more on top of that.

That's part of the question. There is a reason why experts in the physique world promote low fat diets, is this a wrong reason (like protein) or a legit reason?

If I ate even close to the same amount of fat as I do carbs, I would be shitting like a goose.
Everybody says it digests slower/keeps you more satiated which could be beneficial when dieting but the volume of food would drop so would defeat that pretty quick

I wouldn't insinuate eating as much fat as carbs. That would be a bit insane lol. More like 0.5g-0.7g per pound of body weight or lean mass if one is on the "fatter" end.

I eat over 100g of fat a day and I don't have that issue at all.

So typically speaking you can either be in maintenance (weight the same), mass (weight gain), or cutting (weight loss). If you're 163 I'd suggest you increase your calories and get to around 175. Then maintain that weight while dropping some body fat. After that, mass again up to 185 and then cut the body fat again. This is over approx 6 months.

Its hard to gain only lean tissue, hard if damn near not impossible. Think moreso of gaining tissue. Some will be fat but mostly muscle. Once you get the tissue to where you want then work on recomp to get the body fat off. Make sense?

Increase your calories and begin to train much harder. You'll be surprised that you are gaining weight but getting stronger and bigger. You may not technically be more lean, but more muscle mass gives the appearance of leaness.

Def don't follow me back. There is nothing worthwhile on my account. I'm just there to follow weight lifters and tattoo artists.

Only online. Maybe in person, one day...

Although I think you are the only person on the thread in my weight class.

So, maybe we should be friends irl.

If your weight class is fat then yes I am.

I have been wanting to train for a PL meet for the last few years but haven't committed. My total is great at 198 but not at 265.

    Hello, friend.

Is fall a good time for fishing down there?
