Is the torque spec as insane as I think it is? 34-41 N-m?!

First Mod, green valve stems for the tubeless. Did that before riding while everything’s clean. Time to pull out torque wrench and blue loctite.

Already set sag, and changed brakes around bc I come from motocross background.

I tried a test fit in the bed, it’s not gonna work out at all under the cover.

    Yesterday was NBD.

I ordered most of my gear on closeouts, I bought an "open face" helmet, or regular helmet, sorry not used to MTB language. I also bought a full face helmet. I also picked up some knee pads.

Besides dirt bike goggles for the full face, and dirt bike gloves I'm not sure what else I may need. I do have a camelback that I plan on using instead of bottle.

The only thing left is for it to quit raining so that I can get some riding in.

I will say this I have a rock driveway uphill with 2" stones, the stones are somewhat packed in. Sitting down uphill lazily the front may get light, standing up and going up the hill like you're I assume you're supposed to and it tractors. This is in the slack position with front and rear fully open.

    You can just say helmet.

Looks like you bought a YT something longer travel (sorry not overly familiar with their bikes...Capra maybe??). It’s not gonna be a race bike on the ups. Just not what it was designed for.

As for climbing technique, it’s situational and terrain dependent. Only stand up when you have to is the short answer.

    Congrats on NBD!

Lol you haven’t even said what the bike is!

you get a trail helmet? You won’t want a full face for much we have around here.

I’d also highly recommend the hip bag over a camelback backpack. Much much more comfortable.

also I stay seated on most climbs, seat all the way up. Only stand in the most difficult situations. Then drop that seat down for descending

it is a Capra 29 and fine I’ll get a fanny pack lol.

the trail helmet will be used for the things I probably shouldn’t be doing and regular helmet on day to day rides.

I do want to try racing, but not much time to get in shape, it may be a good learning experience and to feel the atmosphere and bike culture.

Here’s a race in 18 days lol. From videos I’ve saw it’s all downhill.

It’s a hip bag, not a fanny pack lol. I recommend the osprey.

A trail helmet is a half shell, not a full face.

that race will have plenty of uphill. They just don’t time those sections. Video usually doesn’t show uphill because it’s boring to watch.

Sorry, I edited my comment after you quoted and added photos.

I’m not sure oak mtn has the untimed enduro sections uphill. I didn’t see them on video, I did see those sections in the Go Nuts Racing series, just not this one.

every one of those trails mentioned in Super D I believe are one after another IIRC when hiking.

Ah ok! Yeah if they’re shutting then it’s all downhill lol. I’ve only done lightning of those trails mentioned. It’s fast.

I had a great day. It went up to 98° here today. I got up early and hit my local Bobcat Ridge and put in 8 miles before it got too hot, still riding in 84° at 10am. I then loaded up and headed up to Estes Park which is a 30 minute drive with temps being 18° cooler up at 7,500FT. On the way up the canyon I stopped and took a swim in the river. Nice high country snow run off cold water felt awesome. Arrived in Estes and did an easy ride around the lake for about 6 miles. Loaded up late in the day and drove back down the canyon. I was passing by the Devils Backbone trailhead so I stopped in and put in another 4 miles before dark, It was still 90° down here at 7PM.

Sick bike. YT’s are rad. I came from a Moto background as well. I have a feeling after your first couple rides, you’ll leave that racing itch in the rear view mirror. The bikes are way more technical than the moto. Hard to explain but I’ll bet you’re not even close to as fast as you think you’re gonna be. Haha not to try and kill your spirits! I just don’t want to see you get a bad taste.

    Am i wrong for this?

Bought this 2018 Specialized Camber for about $1,700 brand new. Ive done some minor upgrades, like a Fox 34 fork (RS Recon sucked), dropper, Tires and some others. Given the current bike market, i figured fuck it, list it for 2K, see what comes in. If someone is willing to give me anything more than what i paid, i would take the money and run. AND then buy the new Ibis Mojo 4. Fucking TR Scouts will be sold out for a while which i really want.

But Someone offered to come pick it up for $1,800 cash tomorrow (and seems dead serious), but im starting to feel a little guilty price gouging this guy because of the given market. Someone please tell me im too nice of a person for thinking that. Getting more now than what i paid for this thing 2 years ago seems like serious value to me given it would otherwise cost $1200 or less if the market was not so dry with entry level bikes. Whatcha think? It definitely has plenty of knicks and scratches.
