What kind of an idiot takes glass camping anyways? Especially now that you can get so many nice beers in a can. Cans are so much more practical. Smaller, lighter weight, can be crushed, don't break, less toll on the environment. The stupidity of people will never cease to amaze me. Although if there's that much glass out there sounds like they were probably breaking bottles on purpose which is a whole other conversation.

Me too, but that looks miserable unless you are sub 5ft.

 

Tested to 6'2" on the diagonal and still judged as comfortable. I'm 5"11". All the room I need. And 5 1/2 inches of memory foam? FAR from miserable. After 57 years of camping, I don't do miserable.

Its an incredibly rocky area, and I suspect most of the glass is old, and never going to go away.

I try not to be a downer, or elitist, but I do have a tendency to get on my high horse about glass... In my experience, its usually people who honest-to-god did not know any better. Just goes to show you common sense isn't so common.

Generally I'll pack out as much as I can, but in the case of AB Hills, there's just too much. You'd need an empty 5 gallon bucket and a lot of free time on your hands.

I usually try and tag stuff #noglassoutside when I post on IG and whatnot to spread the word.

I'm going to float the river this weekend and I've already told the new additions to the crew that if their friends bring glass they will not float with us.

 

I've seen a lot of nasty cuts on the river from broken bottles. So annoying.

 

Yeah, I don't trust humanity (and frankly, human history) enough. I wear water shoes any and every time I'm in the water. Not worth a bazillion stitches, risk of infection, and a tetanus shot. And that's not even talking about the cost to go to the ER.

Agreed, often times its new guys or gals that didn't really think about it that show up with glass. I mean I bring whiskey and tequila in bottles camping, so I can't say that there's absolutely no room for glass Just gotta be careful with them or wrap'em in duct tape. Hopefully the glass out there will get ground down over time. Make sure your new boat crew knows not to crush the cans on your boat as well. Have fun on the river!

Places that wife and I have been in past 50 yrs. Not all with this trailer though, lol. Hoping we could get to some more US states but C19 intervened. Stuck in Manitoba for now. Man, are the rv parks busy!

 

Interesting set up. I’m 6’2”.

 

You can lay with your head in the back corner and your feet will be between the driver's post, window and drivers seat back. If you are a side sleeper and bend your legs then you have room to sprawl. This is just room for one though. Two would indeed be miserable!

 

I had a similar idea (minus the AC) for when I want to stealth camp at a ski resort or on a road trip (I don’t have a shell).
