You're good, it's a free market. He can walk away at any time up to handing you money.

I'd look into Fezzari though, they had high ratings at $2000 mark.

Fezzari looks killer. I've been ogling the La Sal city edition for a few months. https://www.fezzari.com/cityedition

Anyone have or ride a mukluk? Thoughts on playfulness and stability? I am torn between that and the beargease. It will be 75% winter/snow riding duty and the rest a mix of mud days, occasional change of pace kind of rides and maybe some adventure/bikepacking.

I wouldn’t feel bad. You’re being honest with your sale. He values the bike more than the $1800 in his pocket so if he voluntarily pays you it’s a win-win.

I think $1800 sounds fair for an upgraded bike and it looks well maintained. I would not feel guilty. I'm sure he's educated if he offered you money upfront.

I have the new TR Scout and its worth the wait. What size are you looking for?

Thats what i think, but the brain always goes back and forth lol. Gonna do it anyway though, hard to pass up getting that much money back for it after riding it for two years.

Im not limited to 2K though... Also, ive read in some other NJ bike forums Fezzari's lead times are rediculous and they keep extending the dates people can expect their bikes to be shipped. Im sure thats not he case for everyone though. Not really a big fan of them either.

If i like the Mojo 4 as much as i think i will, i can easily get one at this bike shop in NJ.
This may be for some people, but not for me. I'd keep my Specialized Camber over buying this bike ANY DAY as its almost the same IMO at first glance but without a Fox Fork. I also am DYING to get away from the XFusion rear shocks after being stuck with this "proprietary" rear shock "S" used. Im demo'ing a SB130 tomorrow for the day, to see what the 29er life is all about. Next week Demo'ing a new Mojo 4 and probably going to make some further decisions from there. Not considering a Yeti, but its one of the only 29er Demo bikes i can find around.

Take the money and be happy. You have no issue selling a house for more than you paid, why not a bike? If you were upfront in the ad with bike condition, etc, then theres nothing to feel bad about.

I just called the store I purchased mine from and they don't have any in-stock but could get some by the end of September if you are willing to put down a deposit. Not sure how they feel about shipping but you could have them not assemble it and leave it in the box and I could pick it up and mail it to you. Its an hour and half drive for me but I could just drop my bike off for its free tuneup then go mail it.

So quick question, hauling bike in truck is easy throw in bed. How about if I'm going long distance and want to take in small car.

Do you guys pack your bike with wheels off in one of those suit cases, pack in original box, or just leave it on a bike rack receiver.
Only reason I ask is for security of it being inside vehicle on stops and such during a trip.

    Thoughts and preferences?

I have I a Mukluk, which I got last fall. I haven't ridden the Beargrease, so I can't compare them. I imagine the Mukluk is more stable and the Beargrease is more playful, just based on the tire width. I got mine for all of the same reasons you state, and I've been pretty happy with it. I didn't ride it in the snow as much as I expected, but I used it quite a bit in the fall and spring in the mud when I didn't want to put my trail bike through that. Riding it in the snow is fun when you have a packed or groomed trail, but it's not fun if there is more than a couple of inches of powder that you're trying to fight through.

I traveled once in a hatchback ford focus for work and I hauled my bike in the trunk with both wheels off. For one trip I was not going to buy a rack that would mount to the rental car. If I was doing it all the time I might have a different viewpoint.

Daamn! Pretty tempting, and i sincerely appreciate you willing to go out of your way to do it. I may take you up on that but i cant at this second. This shop near me has a bike tech who has a medium Scout and said he will let me test ride it. So let me do that, and also see how the Mojo feels and then decide from there.

Just let me know what you end up deciding. I was between the scout and the ibis hd5. The scout was in stock and the hd5 was not but that would not have changed my mind.

If you end up liking the scout and can’t get one locally, call around. A lot of shops will ship to you or LBS to you for reasonable pricing if you ask. You could even pay for a prepaid shipping label through bike flights if the shop insists on having the scout shipped to them.

I’ve ridden a Mukluk. My sister and her husband both had them. This was maybe 3 years ago though. They were pretty heavy back then, fun bike though. Hopefully they’ve lightened them up a bit since.

Who makes the fender, < dumb question. Lol - But seriously. Or is it a shock splash guard?
