Things are getting... interesting... at the pharmacy.

First the background for those who don't already know:

The other delivery driver (Asshole) took an impromptu vacation.
Didn't clear it with the boss, just asked me to cover.
He came back with Covid-19.
He wouldn't have known except he had minor surgery scheduled and had to get tested.
He's asymptomatic and feels fine.
I have to cover for him...again...until his 10 day mandatory quarantine is up.

A few days ago one of the pharmacy techs called in sick and has been off since then.
She got tested and is positive...just found out.
The other techs and clerks (all women) are ultra pissed.
Pissed at Asshole and also pissed at the Boss (the owner), who wouldn't pay for a professional cleaning and scrub down.
Worst of all, they're having to clean everything themselves with Clorox wipes.
I don't blame them. I was pissed at having to wipe down the MedCart trays and the delivery van's interior.

One tech and two clerks didn't come in today.
Mrs Gritto thinks because they're so angry, but also scared.

I've been keeping my mouth firmly shut on the subject.
Good thing too, because it seems the pharmacy tech is feeling seriously ill.
What if she's one of the unlucky ones?

I have a suspicion that Mrs Gritto and I have already had it.
Just before Christmas the signs went up at the psychiatric hospital I deliver to.
Signs about a "Flu-like Illness", and "No Visitors Until Further Notice" (still no visitors allowed to this day).
The gal who watches the security cameras later told me they've had ongoing outbreaks.
They've been clearing out sections and having them professionally scrubbed...then moving on to the next section, then the next.
Patient numbers have been way down for months now.

Anyway, Mrs Gritto and I both had what we figured was mild flu over Christmas.
Mind you, we both had flu shots.
Maybe we've had C-19 already.
But we're from an older generation and are not upset. We remember epidemics of the past.
I figure everyone is gonna have a brush with the virus eventually.

Oh well.

Yeah, the gals at the pharmacy are seriously upset.
Telling them it's useless to worry will do no good at all.
I hope all the scrubbing and disinfecting does the trick.
Because if anyone else comes down with it...
