they are pretty close in height. the 295's might fit a bit better on the 9.5's

I really want it square with the 285s, but I'm barely clearing the 315/75r16 with aggressive CMC, pinch flattening and LCAs pushed forward. I'm scared to go any taller. But then again, they are narrower.

    I don't know....

the 285/75-18 are barely taller than 315/75-16 and the reduction of 30mm in width should gain you quite a good bit of clearance

Thanks, I do want to run narrower, the 315s were balloons. Decision made, 285/75r18 it is.

Initial thought was to vomit. But the pic with the outer ring black actually looks pretty good.

Nice rims, run them as is, metal art, man.
285 75 18 is what I run, tall skinny 35 inch tire. Most are E rated at that size.

I was able to take the pictures I took and make a closer representation of the final product. This will be very close to the look and proportions except the tires won't balloon as much. I love it.

Absolutely lovely! Flat black the hood (and the roof while you’re at it) maybe a red stripe job. Man, I’d like to lay a beating on that Bitch! Nice job OP!

It would be a sin for any black paint to touch those wheels. They look bitchin’ as-is. Everyone and their dog and their dog’s Kia Rio has black wheels now. I’m over it.

man what a steal for 300 bucks.

On a side note, 2003 is vintage? I guess it is 17 years. Damn I'm getting old.

They used to call those wheel stiffeners and then rock rings. Had to run them on inside and outside lips on alum wheels cause otherwise they would crack on a hard impact. On steelies they would bend rather than crack so we would just beat the lip back enough to hold air alongside the trail.

have you checked them for bent flanges? Maybe that is why he sold them so cheap. They are beautiful, I have a set of that same era kmcs but without the stiffeners.

I concur. When you can buy a minivan with OEM black wheels and even the ricers have moved on, it's time for that trend to go away. I want to see polished aluminum and white steelies stage a comeback.

This was the ad, right out there, I can't believe they didn't sell before I got them. They were listed for like 2 weeks before I got them. He didn't list them that well though.
