sigh. Why can’t everything be standard globally with stuff like this

I already killed the breaker. I ripped up the package so it’s looking like I’ll keep my new cord and change outlet.

When I do this, does anything need to change in the breaker box or does the cord to the breaker need to change too or just the outlet?
House is about 35 years old.
    upload_2020-8-14_18-19-12.jpg
pic of the old dryer cord, the new cord looks like that but the top single pin(ground?) is L shaped

splicing wires on a 240v seems dangerous to me, don’t wanna fuck around

my initial post was in Home Depot parking lot I’m home now and can respond accordingly

Kill the breaker and its safe. Just always make sure to check power even if you killed a breaker

No need to swap cord? If that’s the case and it’s just the outlet my neighbor can help and I don’t need to pay some dude

LC wanted to fight me on the damn rear sway bar, but I won. Little drill, tap, and helicoil action. Nice new drill bit helped too since I had to get that old bolt end out. Cleaned up the scale too, but I have a plan to do it all in one shot later so I didn't take pics of my 2" of cleanup haha.
