All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
If anyone is letting go of an AR let me know. My close friend is looking. He is currently rocking an old SKS his pops gave him.
He wants to step into the next evolution ;)

I am sure he will enjoy himself. After all the plinking I have done, my fav is any period correct .308 battle rifle.

I'm really digging the M1A (civilian variant of M14) chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor

Edit: mostly because I just like the M1, but the AR platforms are much better for pretty much everything.

@backcountryj check out the way this guy mounted his rack to his swingout. Such a simple solution.

Love it. I’ve got some design ideas for the flat bed/removable canopy. Nothing terribly original, but taking aspects I like from multiple existing designs.

Bike transport is high on the must have list, in all configurations.

I am looking at various flatbeds that would work well. Fanning one from scratch isn’t cost effective. Given the power train of these 3rd gens, we are looking at Alum options.
The kicker is finding one that looks right on the truck, and doesn’t have to be shipped from AU

No sir, we were booked up for this weekend. May try to swing the next caffeine and octane at the perimeter mall.

She’ll be scoped by the end of the week. Already have the irons dialed in. This is the .308 version.

Kinda upset I missed the one they had this month, I honestly thought they'd cancel it. I'm definitely going to be at the next one in September. Would love to see some more tacos there for sure

I will say it was WAY more crowded than I expected. We tailed out around 1030 because it got so hot and the crowd was so big.

Wanted to run this by everyone for input on how they would have approached this recovery.

Prefacing this by I met another vehicle traveling on the opposite side (My side) of the trail in a very tight corner while up in Blue Ridge today. When pulling over to the shoulder to try and let the oncoming vehicle pass, the shoulder gave way resulting in my front tire dropping down into a creek bed.

    Pictures for reference. 950E800D-D579-4868-A577-350AB53F8C49.jpg15BB6828-0DA5-41FA-8838-714FBEABBAEE.jpg

Truck is resting on passenger LCA, radiator support bracket and front bumper. Front passenger tire suspended in air. 4Lo with locker engaged resulted in some sphincter puckering moments.

After talking to the other driver about trail/road etiquette and him apologizing we attached a recovery strap to his receiver and he pulled me out.

Driving home I was going though self recovery options and came up with nothing I felt that would have resulted in a safe recovery. I was thinking about this in terms of if the other driver wasn’t willing to help. I have snatch blocks, winch etc but can’t help think I would have been screwed. Any feedback is appreciated.
