Does anyone have a diagram of the 2020 Premium Entune 3.0 stereo wire harness connections on the back of the stereo and/or wiring diagram?

I would like to swap around my USB ports to allow the wired CarPlay connection to operate from one of the two USB ports inside the Center console.

Edit 2: There is a MUCH better adapter cable available as of 2023, see my post #17 below:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2020-tacoma-premium-stereo-usb-swap.672635/#post-28703725

Edit: None of original cables I shared were the right cable for the Entune 3.0 units, it was much harder to find than I originally thought.

These two are the right cable, unfortunately I can only find it in China so there’s the wait for China post. I’ve ordered both myself, and confirmed they work.

(copy paste the link, for some reason clicking from tw doesn't work)

The following cables are probably all for Entune 2.0 units, just different picture angles of the same connector:

Just wanted to update that after a very long wait, I can confirm that both the Opuradio cable and the KODJL cable have the right connector for the Entune 3.0 side - I purchased both myself for a retrofitting project from Entune 2.0 to Entune 3.0.

I think the Opuradio cable is probably salvaged from an OEM wiring harness, but the KODJL one is purpose built... both were definitely the right cable to connect into the Entune 3.0 USB, though.

Thanks for posting this IcemanPNW! I ordered the Opuradio cable. A little pricey, but I haven't found any other options. The link above for the item on www.aliexpress.com doesn't work [anymore]. 2020 Access SR5 (non-JBL audio)

No problem, glad to share! It took way too much effort to figure it out :| About the AliExpress link, it's way cheaper, but either TacomaWorld or AliExpress do something weird to it that makes it go to the AliExpress homepage when clicked from TW. Not sure why. But if you copy paste the link it still goes to the right product. I added a comment up above to reflect that.

Thanks for posting the Ali express link. I’ve been trying to replace my USB port and when I finally got one it didn’t fit. I’m going to try the cable now and this is the exact one I was looking for which was a huge pain to find. Appreciate your help!

Coincidence that you would post as I *just* received in the mail today what I think will be an even better cable.

The difference being that it’s a 6 inch long adapter *directly* from the new Entune 3.0 to the old Entune 2.0. It’s also less expensive.

This will be an advantage because there won’t be 6 feet of useless wire for the adapter, so you can use longer usb cords on the phone side without problems.

I’ll update here later this weekend of it works.

Lol what perfect timing. I was curious if the Ali express option is truly Data transfer or is it charging only?

Now this has me curious if I can change the jack in my dash or any of them to usb C.

If you’re just looking for charging, from this other thread there’s a few options, including these OEM parts from the 2023 that you might be able to retrofit in the center console:

That's actually not exactly what I had in mind but I do like how it looks. Having one of both types in the console would be nice too.

I was looking to replace the one in the center stack where you can plug in for android auto or Apple car play by default. It seems now that samsung and Apple are both shipping phones with a USB c cable that would make sense.

Same thread as the center console part there is a guy that used a 3D printed keystone switch blank to get USB-C on the dash:

Did the Opuradio work for you all those years ago? :)

Meh. Yes, it works, but what it actually is, is the OEM (or possibly a clone of the OEM) cable from the radio all the way down to the USB socket in the dash. Ridiculously expensive for what it is.

At the time it was the ONLY cable available that had the correct connectors to the Entune 3.0 head units, so it was the best option for doing a retrofit. There are better options available now.

Ok guys, tested this evening and confirmed; disregard all of the earlier posts from previous years, this is the endgame for the retrofit as far as USB goes if you're doing the Entune 2.0 to Entune 3.0 swap.

This is a short 6" long adapter that fits the Entune 3.0 head unit and attaches directly to the Entune 2.0 USB harness in the vehicle. You'll still need the separate harness for the rest of the head unit wiring, but this is THE one for USB.

    Aliexpress link: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804748602146.html

Notes: that link goes to six different cable options, only one of which is the correct one. Also, I have no affiliation with whatever this shop is, just have been looking for this specific adapter for a long time and finally found it. Lastly, quality control and shipping directly out of China can be sketchy at times, YMMV.

** MAKE SURE TO GET THE "B" CABLE PICTURED BELOW **
