Do these “34’s” require a CMC and or pinch weld flat-ning?

I'm guessing it probably depends on wheel spacing and lift as I've heard some are running without and some need it. I'm doing a CMC next week while i'm still on 265s w/ 2" OME lift, more clearance never hurt, right? :)

I looked up the conversion and the 295mm comes out to a little over 11.5”
I also checked the specs of the 34x10.5, and the overall diameter is 33.5”(the 295’s are 33.4” so only a fraction of a difference, yes rim specs would also be a factor but just comparing according to the specs). When I attempted to mount my full-size in the stock location, keeping the tire horizontal on its way up would touch both the hitch and diff. I then angled it up and over the diff, then cranked the pulley while guiding the lower part of the tire over the hitch. I did manage to somewhat get the tire into the void but it was stuck at an angle either touching the diff or hitch. I knew if the axle would compress, it would have wedged the tire. I unfortunately don’t have pics from the last time I tried
I didn’t think so either but I remember having this discussion last year with a couple other members and one guy had a DCLB and didn’t have trouble fitting his true 33”s. If/When I find that thread, I’ll link it here.
    Yep it is

Thanks for the detailed reply. Where did you end up keeping the spare? Or did you size down?

I definitely have a feeling it will be really close. Going to see if I get one of the local tire shops to mount one up a do a test fit before I fully commit. I really don't want to go the new bumper with swing out tire carrier route. Not really the look I'm after, plus I carry bikes a lot on a hitch mounted swing out and I don't want all the extra weight that far back.

All good man, not trying to prove anyone wrong but just sharing my frustrating experience lol. My E-rated bricks make it that much more “fun” to deadlift it around.

I keep it in the bed with a bike cable lock which is also looped through D-rings I installed in the bed bolts. It’s laying flat, out of sight for the most part. I leave it on closest to the passenger side cab to combat the Taco lean lol. Short bed problems though, gotta huck it out when I need to load up large items. That’d be awesome if you can find a shop to do that for you! I don’t like the look of the swing outs either, nor bed racks or roof racks. I’ll probably go down a hair in tire size in the near future and definitely not E-rated. It’s just slim pickings finding 16” tires that fit my criteria

@DeltaKilo found it. The post was actually this year but the damn COVID is feeling like an eternity.

Starting on post #503. He also stated the same thing you did about where the different lengths would be beneath. But by his pics, he’s got ample room between the hitch and diff. I doubt it but could be a 3rd Gen thing? Or perhaps since I’m running the stock TRD Beadlock Style wheels that are narrower than most of the aftermarket wheels. Narrow wheels make the overall tire diameter a little taller right? Since there’s not a lot of width to stretch them out?

I would assume so, probably a very small amount, but seems like to could be a factor when the space is as tight as it is. I've got 8.5" wide rims, so hoping that works in my favor.
