I'm currently running my cab mount with 285/75/16s. I like the tire size and would like to keep these rubbers. It's the wheel I need to change before Rush and possibly CMC lol

You're on 700# springs, correct? I'm curious to see what adjustment level you're on and how it handles. I've got 650# and am set right in the middle for compression. My 1st gen needs a lot of weight on her to get to that plush feel.

Yeah, 700#. But she's a heavy bish. My skids weigh a metric fuck ton and my sliders are heavy too. That and bumper, winch, etc add up to needing 700#.

That said, I'm not sure I'd call it plush. It's well controlled and compliant when adjusted correctly.

On road I happy to set it about anywhere in the front. Right now I'm full soft on the compression and it's pretty dreamy. But running harder rides really well too. The rear I go full soft on road.

Off road, fronts are 13 clicks out of 20. Rears 8/20

As reference to @Summers_Kytaco_19 comment earlier, first time out I only ran up to 7 clicks on the front and maybe 3 in the rear. Night and day difference to what I run now

I don't think the wheel is going to fix that part of rubbing, but maybe it will

Decreasing backspacing will actually make it rub on the cab mount worse, as youre increasing the length of the pendulum.

Increasing it will help for the opposite reason, but then you risk uca clearance issues.

When I went 285/75 I was still on stock wheels, lifted but stock UCAs and 1.25” wheel spacers. I rubbed my cab mount a fair amount. When I bought my methods my rub went away unless I’m really flexed out or land hard up front.

Did you remove the wheel spacers when you got the new wheels?

Good feedback. Increasing is my goal. I'm +25mm stock wheels and 32mm spacer, so I'm at a -7 right now. I'm hoping when I try Stevens 0 offset wheels I'll have less rubbing, but surely I'll be closer to my UCA

Do you keep the same weight in your truck all the time? My issue is that when I'm in work mode I'm carrying anywhere from 800-1200 lbs of tools and supplies. When I'm in play mode I drop all that weight, so having the right spring rate is an exercise in futility. On my 1st gen I just made sure I could easily carry everything and didn't worry about when I was empty. On the 3rd gen I'm trying to find the balance. Thats why I went with adjustable compression, but I haven't really played with it too much to see if it alone can handle both situations.

Most everyone on a factory wheel of 25/30 offset is running a 1.25" spacer with 285 tires, and has a CMC.
I don't understand why you're so against it. Don't ever plan to go to 34/35 tires then...

I'm not so against it. I just want to try one thing at a time. If I have to cut, I'm fine with it. But it's going to be my last option.

That is entirely dependent on my wheel situation I think.
Count me in for at least an evening of camping with everyone Saturday night.
I should have better details for you by mid of this week.
As far as wheeling goes, it's just going to depend on wheels etc

I do, it's all my armor up front.

Really, for loads you just need the leaf springs to be able to support it, and then use any damping adjustment to control how the spring acts. I don't load up too much for camping, but I'll have a box with all my stuff it in. I only add maybe 100lbs when I travel but that's part of the reason I stiffen the rear up a bit. from the sound of it, you might actually need to soften your rear when in play mode
