Replaced a couple gaskets, shift shaft and kick start shaft seals, cleaned the carb, adjusted valves, checked the timing then went for a five mile scoot. I’m still getting a weird misfire almost when the engines hot and I’m starting from an idle. I’m wondering if the carb is getting hot and it’s vaporizing the gas in the passages or something. I’m stumped on it.

If fuel line is not routed properly it could be vapor lock.

Maybe, but it’s not dying entirely or stalling. Its like it’s combusting every fourth or eighth revolution or something. I’ll have to get a video of it. My other thought was possibly the spark advance lobes were getting stuck out/advanced and not returning.

Honest question: is it meant to be only one side? Or are you going to be scouring ebay looking for the other now? Haven’t seen that before.

What's plug wire like? My CB400F had one wire where the plug end boot wasn't tight on the wire. Ran decent most of the time but once in a while...... Old Honda mechanic I know was checking my points and just looking over a few things and found it.

I plan on doing the same thing. I have a leather messenger bag that I want to convert to a quick detach saddlebag. I feel like the look would be a little “European” looking but I think it’s probably the bast solution for my needs/aesthetic. The messenger bag would let me store things I’d need for work (Laptop/ paperwork) and I can still sling it over once I get to the office.

Well i am thinking about a dry bag or something like it for this bike. It wont be as big as the one pictured, because judging on the bracket size, the bag needs to be on the small side.

Also, the bracket didn't come with hardware for the quick disconnect. Im sure I can source it from somewhere. But directly from SW Motech, they say their parts are made in Germany, so its expensive just for a couple bolts.

I was just thinking of attaching a solo bag under the seat, and then using the bracket as a point that doesn't rub the wheel. I need to see how bags work and figure out how I want to do this

Properly detailing a vehicle is a weekend long job for me. I do the same as you: wash, clay, wash, polish/correction, wax/seal.

My shoulders, elbows and hands are ruined for about a week after the job is done. It’s especially rough with single-stage paint!

Thanks! I don’t have those wheels on it anymore. As it turns out, 265 series track tires on the front made the steering and handling rather unwieldy.
