When I change the spark plug on the snowblower I check the gap on the old plug. It was off slightly. The replacement plug was gap to spec. When I started the snowblower the idle was higher. I don't know if it was due to a wider gap or the old plug was badly worn.

The old plug is completely black. I was just anxious to get it running I didn't bother to replace it. I did purchase a new plug when I pick up the carb.

Yesterday I tried to break loose the screw on the old carb. Won't bulge. I may need to put the carb in a vice, if I can find someone with a vice.

Another nice day in the lower 70's degrees. It's a nice break from the heat.

We need some rain here as well. My lawn crunches when I walk on it.

I was going to say the same thing. The grass is so dry I can hear it breaking when walking on it.

Dirt area is like a dessert, mostly sand.

We finally got some here and there last week. Was supposed to rain yesterday but didn't. But we have cooled some (for now). So that's good.

    @ Plain Jane Taco

Just an update, I manually rev the engine up now the idle is a little higher.

At a better observation the screw I was trying to unloosen was a carburetor screw and not a adjustment screw. I can't find any adjustment screws. Just to make about the adjustment screw I'll call the shop where I purchase the carb from and ask about adjusting it.

One YouTube video I watch show someone adjusting the idle by bending a lever to tension the spring going to the carb. Another video show adjusting the lawn mower throttle cable ends to increase idle.

We're supposed to be back in the mid to upper 80's Tuesday. It felt good while it lasted.

Really no rain in the last 1 1/2 to 2 months. The produce markets are hurting from the drought. As usual when we get really dry summer the Fall season going to flood a lot.

We dropped down to the mid 80s. That's a break for us based on the last month or so

Many newer mowers have automatic chokes and throttles. Makes adjustments a little tougher. I was going to suggest bending the linkage a tiny bit to pull on the throttle plate a hair. Wouldn't take much movement at all to bump the idle. So you would just have to play around with it until the get it where you want it
