OP, thanks for sharing. We all need to understand the short clip was filmed in a customers truck not the OPs truck or his shop/promo truck.
The pulls are only going to be so hard in someone else's truck. We just want to see more and hear more as the wait time on this has been frustrating to those that really want to purchase the unit. Lets all take a second to understand that its here if you want it. You made it through the wait.

I just really need someone out there to dyno before and after! We need baseline and gains per truck. Not just the numbers Mag is putting out. If enough of the people who bought one do this we can all see real world numbers to get an average/ median depending on truck set up.

Ether way OP thank you for starting the discussion and good luck with the sales.

The 3.5 with maggy supercharger makes around 100 more hp than the 3.4l with TRD Supercharger. And that’s in stock form, willing to bet the TVS 1900 with cooler will easily push much more, especially with aftermarket tunes.

@Deo taco , any way you can take a pair of calipers to the pulley shaft? Try to get a close approximation.

I think there’s more left in the Magnuson. The TVS1900 is pretty beefy. Not sure if it was tuning, fueling, or hardware limitations(or just staying on the safe side for the first initial releases). But I bet once users start cranking them up we should see some more gains.

You mean how good 303.4 HP at the wheels after 18% drivetrain loss is factored in.**

all hp can be stated in a before or after taxes number. all OEM rate at the crank. most mods rate at the wheels

Did you Dyno it? If so, I'd like to see the numbers.

When the TRD blower came out from Magnuson for the 2nd gens the "mod" was rated at the crank assuming the 70HP the blower was supposed to add to the OE engine, which gave it 305 HP / 335 TQ. The OE 2nd gen Tacomas came with something around 188 - 192 ACTUAL HP which is a far cry from the advertised 235 HP it came with OE in the 4.0 engine. Add 70 to 235 and there's your supposed "mod HP rating."

I would be incredibly surprised if they actually dyno'ed it post supercharger install to come up with those figures instead of just slapping numbers on top of already known engine base HP ratings of 270HP. That would assume a 166.6HP (give or take a few ponies) HP gain after factoring in your 18% drivetrain losses to the rear wheels. That's too much to give a blower right out of the box especially when we are talking from Magnuson and also implies MORE THAN a 30% HP gain right out of the box that they are advertising.

Oops. Hang on, they are advertising 32% power increase. I was off by 2%. So the final rear wheel HP they are seeing out of this thing is 308.

Ha ha this is such a fun thread. What a learning experience for you. Your getting hammered lol. You should have been more choosy when ya sold your first kit. Like you should have installed it on your neighbors truck. Not a customer that’s going to take off with the goods that were all drooling over. And maybe thrown some TW guys name in a hat and had a raffle. Not here it is I’m selling them. You totally cock teased us all. I say this with a smile on my face” you are a dirty rat... lol I’m still sending you a gift basket from my corporation.

Working the numbers backwards from their claims, they are assuming a 16% drivetrain loss. So that’s 95 hp OE rated. I’m still on the fence on actually spending ~$6k on either a SC or TT setup. That’s a lot of moolah for only 100hp. But, if that amount of money changes the performance in a material way, it may be worth it.

If the taco can now tow a 4.5k loaded travel trailer and the experience is significantly better, the equation then becomes $6k vs trade (at whatever cost) vs no trailer for me. I have a backup tow vehicle, but I’d prefer the taco for hard work.

I’m holding out hope that we get to see some real dyno numbers so we can see what the torque curves look like down low. I don’t want to have to be at 4500 rpm before I see real gains. I’m sure it’s lower than that, but how much?

Because super chargers are belt driven you don’t have to wait for spool like you do in turbochargers(atleast old turbochargers). The torque curve by design is going to be pushed way down low unless they were using a blower setup that wasn’t matched well to the engine which wouldn’t make sense considering magnuson is one of the best in the business.

18 is the more plausible proven number on these trucks and since the 3rd gen group shares the same frame setup almost identical to the 2nd gen is say that number is a little more likely.. however, unless you guys have a different tranny than the A750E/F that 2nd gen guys which you probably do, your tranny may be ever so slightly more efficient than ours.
