I've been thinking about replacing my TRD Off-Road OEM exhaust with something that will give my truck just a bit more of an aggressive sound. I'm not looking for something too loud, just a nice rumble. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Also, I recently subscribed to Overland Magazine and received my first fall issue and the imagery and stories are incredible, I highly recommend!

The available stock Toyota engines and "rumble" typically don't go together.

Toyota does make a oem TRD Sport exhaust that’s better than the stock ones that come with the trucks FYi & they also have TRD intake systems that you can add to it as well google it.

I put the trd intake and exhaust on mine and I feel that the change of parts made a difference in my throttle response especially on the highway.

You could go for the actual TRD Exhaust.

I ran a bunch of exhausts on my Tacomas in the past. Most were overly droning or boomy. If you want a noticeable increase in sound without the drone I can only recommend the OEM TRD Pro exhaust or the Flowmaster 50 series delta flow mufflers. It needs to be a chambered muffler, straight thrus on the Tacoma just drone. Some people with long beds say the Magnaflow is bearable, it does have a second smaller muffler that the short bed version does not. It would still be a gamble in my opinion, I had the Magnaflow as well and it was loud. The Gibson exhausts are also known to be on the quieter side.

for sound i agree the TRD Pro cat back is good, but just for sound. it's has a very restrictive muffler and doesn't help performance at all. if it was about performance that's a different question. i had it and it sounded about as good as this truck can. and i was super happy to remove it and go full custom.

Agree with the above recommendations for Borla. I've run their catbacks on my last 2 vehicles (v6 and v8) and loved the aggressive sound and no drone

While I did suggest the TRD Exhaust,
I run a Borla Twin Outlet muffler, aggressive and smooth.

In my opinion, 4 and 6 cylinder engines have no business with aftermarket exhausts. They just don’t sound good. Not to my ears. It screams “I’m a teenager”. Just my 2 cents man. Flame me if you must.

Another vote for the TRD exhaust. Perfect in my opinion. Good luck in your choice OP

I have and like the TRD PRO Cat-back as well. Not just loud, like in no muffler, but gives a nice deep tone that gives the feeling of more power even though it doesn't.
No drone and looks good too.
