This picture was just after I got the box brand new off the truck. our shop had lost power in that october 2018? (no power for a week) windstorm that knocked out power to thousands.. I was there at the shop organizing, and cleaning the shop, lifts were inoperable, as well as no compressor, lighting, etc... had an hour or so each day to organize the toolbox during my lunch breaks. it stayed like this for a bit until i figured out where I liked having things, and what fit.

 

Then you forget which drawer you put that one tool.

well the front coils are ready, stopped by my local shop, and he let me use his spring compressor, and got the coil seat height set to dobinsons specs. now I just need to get the "shock extenders" from toytec, should be here monday the 17th... no suppliers had 2/4" lift shocks available... so extenders it is on the stock rear shocks until the MRA's show up.. I figure its an easy bolt on, and should take much to bolt on the new rear shocks.

I also got the ECGS bushing & seal in, so if anyone has a removal tool available that would be great. I've got plenty of sockets, and such that I'm confidant i can install it without issue...

anyone up for a suspension install party in a few weeks? thinking a sunday, or monday...

 

Heading to Spider Lake today for few days of peace and quiet. Doing it easy...staying in Macannamac camp called Spike Horn. Because I deserve it LOL. Stop by if you're in the neighborhood and want a cold beer.

 

thats quite a ways up into the allegash... have fun, its back to work for me.

 

Let me know how it is. I have a group of bird hunters that goes up that way each year and it's always nice having a backup!

 

Hey everyone,

I'll be visiting next weekend an in Old Orchard Beach. Can anyone recommend any trails around there? I'll be coming from NY/CT for reference, if we pass anything good too. I've never really been off roading beyond dirt roads and basically 1 trails. I have a small lift, ATs, and sliders. No winch or even recovery boards, just a shovel and some tools.

 

I'd recommend rangeley area (morton cutoff rd, head toward Eustis, ME), theres some places to stop take a few scenic pictures ), easy trails, no winch needed. air down for comfort... there are a ton of off-shoots if you want to explore (just be warned a lot of them end abruptly, so be prepared to turn around a bit..... LOTS of ATV trails in that area, so stick to the marked roads.

 

Thank you for the advice! I think that's a bit far for us though, Google Maps says over 2.5 hours, in the opposite direction we're coming from :-\

 

OOB is basically NY/CT so you won't find trails there. The closest dirt that I know of (other than a few mile chunks here and there) is in the White Mountain/Mahoosuc area. Inland Maine is a sight to see, most people never make it west of 295/95.

 

Well you asked, you are in the sub-urban part of the state, they frown on trails, offroading in general down there, except for ATV riding (there are trails everywhere for ATV's/snowmobiles). Maine its always 2-3 hours away no matter where you are headed.. I go to NMW, or north of Bangor to get offroad, and they are about 2-3hours drive for me (thomaston, Me - few trails, but most are so rutted/rocked out they cant be passed by anything you would consider road legal)...

 

Might as well leave the recovery gear home, you might be able to sneak into a pit or drive on some gravel headed into a camp ground, but unfortunately there isn’t anything that I’m aware of. I live right next door and just back from my playground about 4 hours away this time.

 

I had a good, relaxing trip. Spike Horn Camp was good.

This is the camp site at Chase Lake. Could easily fit 1/2 dozen vehicles for a road trip. Anyone been there with a group before?
