Qi Wireless Charging Overheating?

Mine works great most of the time, a bit slow though. It overheated maybe 5 times in 2 years i own my truck, not a biggie imo. Im easy to please coming out of the archaic 2007 ranger. Loved that thing.

 

Even if they did. They are not intended to cool the phone lol. That’s what we are talking about.

 

They cool the charger which in turn cools the phone/keeps it from overheating. Im not about to have a debate about wireless chargers on here... a good one will always come with a fan, period.

 

I removed my Qi button and tucked it behind my dash. I installed an anytime USB port in there instead. As an FYI that USB port supplied is meant for data, not charging. Which is why it’s so slow. I have my flash drive in there for my music. It’s meant for that and when you want to update the software on the HU.

 

Hmm, I have a Note 9 and Spigen but am getting the overheating problem. Assuming you see this old thread/update, did you find that turning your phone a specific way works? Someone above said 'top of phone' on right side of Qi charger.

 

It charges either way but after reading some more posts, I wonder about the duration. I usually only use it driving to/from work. So it's only on for like 30-45 minutes....
