Is it just my area or is there a shortage of Tacomas?

My son is looking currently. They're out there (depending on exactly what you want given there are like 1million different configurations). If your looking to buy now, Color and options will be limited. There seem to be plenty of SRs in my area, but dealers are really charging a premium of about 3grand. I told him to wait until January.

I’ve been offered a premium on my 2107 with 42k miles. I’m not really interested in upgrading.

To be fair, only the body will be in the first year. The power plant has been out for almost a year now.

In Hawaii (Tacoma capital of the world) where they normally have 600+ Tacomas on their website inventory in stock has only 3 on the site now. Maybe they have more not listed but I just talked to a guy today who was driving a 2020, and he said about 1.5 months ago when he bought his, there were very limited colors available thats why he only had the choice of Voodoo Blue in the configuration he wanted. There was a 2 month waitlist for new Tacomas.

Price are insane right now. Been looking for a while now. Found a TRD Pro at dealer in the Chicago area, have family there and they where at the lot checking the truck out, $45.5k, Until I caught the sale manager trying to pull a fast one and over charging me on stuff, then he said no deal, he tried to raise the price after we verbally agree, so I wonder what that dealership would do when I went to pick up the truck. Missed a Green Pro by 2 hours about a couple weeks ago, life sucks sometimes.
I am lucky that I can wait, got a nice 2006 GX470 lifted and ready for off road. So if I can’t find the one I want, at the price I think is fair, then I will wait, deal for the best price I can on a 2021 and if the dealers won’t deal, then another truck or 2022. I think it just sucks that quicksand is gone and green is not on the Off Road next year.

There aren't as many around ATL as usual but I did a check of one dealership nearby and they had over 60 on the lot, so they aren't all gone, granted they usually have more than 100 at all times so....

Which dealer? They are all sleezy here, just some are slightly less sleezy. When I was stationed in AZ never had any real issues, mostly straight forward buying at multiple dealers, came up here to IL and took me over a month of back and forth and even when I got to the dealer the finance guy tried to pull some shady sh*t. Glad I will be out of this state in a few months.

I just can't believe how expensive tacomas, 4runners, etc are going for right now. I bought a new SR5 DCLB back in February for 15% off MSRP. Dealers were trying undercut each other right and left to get my business. I just checked KBB and trade in value is like $2k more than I paid and private party is above MSRP. We also have a 2019 4runner SR5 Premium w/ 22k miles and the kbb trade in value is $1k higher than we paid a year and a half ago (new). Personally I would hold off right now if you can.

I had someone offer me close to what I paid for my 2017 the other day the guy told me he has been looking for 6 months and unable to find a manual truck with my specs. I was pretty tempted to unload it but still enjoy driving it. I drove by my local dealer the other day and usually has about 6-10 Tacos and Tundras on the lot, i was shocked to see it completely empty.

I love the tires you have, matched up with those stock wheels! I just bought a 2020 TRD Access Cab a couple months ago and upgrade to bigger tires. Did you also add a 2" lift to those trucks as well? They look really really nice!
