My 2000 Tacoma came with a bumper mounted ball hitch.
I thinking of using a atv receiver like this one https://www.amazon.com/Adaptador-re...prefix=haul+master+rec,automotive,244&sr=1-20
mounting it upside down so its under to bumper replacing the ball hitch.
It would just be to use a bicycle rack that I have that carries two bikes.
Do people think it would be secure? Is there anything to becarefull of with this? Or does anybody have better suggestions?

    Thanks

Check AutoZone or Uhaul and get an actual hitch.

It looks like from the picture which does not mean much the distance from the pin hole to the rear your bike rack might not fit depending on the distance to the rear of your male tube from the hole to the end.

As long as the temptation never comes up to use it for anything else but your static bike load.

Myself I would go with a real Hitch

This would be better than the ATV adapter.

That seems like it might be prone to rotating. I don't like it. If you look around, you can get an actual hitch receiver for $100 or so and that would be far more durable.

Just like everyone else on here stated go with an actual frame mounted hitch on your truck, thats what it was designed for OR heavy duty rear bumper with a 2" receiver.

For the OP`s use to hold his Bicycle or 2 it will work.

Downside don`t park the truck with the bikes any place you can`t leave the truck running for 30 minutes

So very Easy to unbolt and walk away

I mean, this isn't nearly as bad as that guy a while back that wanted to use an ATV winch on his Taco, but it's generally not a good idea to use atv accessories on your truck.

Not only would this easily rotate unless you modify it, I'm betting this would bend your bumper. Ball hitches on bumpers don't do great at a torsional load, which is what you'd have with a bike rack or something. I also couldn't find any sort of rated weight limit on this thing. Even a bike rack with a couple bike on it would likely exceed the limits if mounted to an ATV.

Just spend the $130 on a hidden hitch or similar.

Full hidden hitch it is then.
    Thanks for the advice
