I just looked at the thread and saw you did it out through all of September, so that’s cool I can do it then.

@m603holden you still trying to pawn off an IFS skid?

Any heating guys in central mass have advice for replacing our original with the house (1986) oil boiler? 3 zone baseboard. Last service I was told they stopped making parts/fittings for our current unit and we’re on borrowed time. Trying to decide whether to get an additional standalone water heater for hot water during the warmer months so the boiler doesn’t have to kick on to keep a certain temp.
Also any recommendations for an installer in the Upton area.

That sounds amazing! I am in when it happens. I haven't been to the top of Mt. Washington since I was a kid, so I would like to head back up there.

If it’s open to Ferd-driving TW members, i’d love to do that depending on the dates. We hiked it once but an after hours drive would be cool!

Meh. I would watch and try not to let it kick down and bring the revs up. I think that's part of how I got such good mileage

honestly I do this on the Tacoma. If you put it on cruise at 65 it doesn’t gear hunt as bad as the 16s. But still does. If I instead give it the gas in the downhill and back off on the uphills, basically some pseudo hyper miling, sometimes it never even kicks out of 6 let alone drop to 4. If I’m in control of the truck it drives just fine, but still does drive like a truck. Cruise kills it though.

I used McDonald Heating for most of my stuff when I lived in Oxford and was very happy with them, they added an indirect hot water heater for me and replaced my oil boiler on two separate projects. I also have a buddy who works for Rodenheiser and would recommend them if you're in their service area. If you have NG or Propane, you might want to look into getting off oil and getting an on-demand unit, those things are killer. I'm looking at one to replace a 22 year oil boiler in my Vermont house next spring.

Damn that is a nice setup! Also, it looks like you moved since I last saw you! You've got some trees!

Diesel all the things! The 16+ 6.7's are practically bulletproof. The worst thing I've seen recently was a charge air pipe blew off on a guy hauling a ginormous camper (bigger than yours). $150 for a new connector and he was back on the road.

Plus, they have extended most warranty coverage on the emissions BS that they have for the diesel.

I do want to see how that new 7.3 Godzilla motor fares. I've only had one come in for service so far, and it was a 40' motor home with a failed injector (that was 2 weeks out.. He limped home on 7 cylinders).

Sea Dog is my favorite! Also way to be in the area and not say hi :pout: I'm getting tired of talking to trees over here :broccoli: :goingcrazy:

It is a general rule of thumb up here.. Friday-Sunday, stay home and let the massholes, conneticunts, and NY douches duke it out. I can't tell you how many accidents I've narrowly avoided from people driving like assholes, blowing through stop signs and lights, and just not giving a shit.

The dirt section is one of my favorites for the Climb to the Clouds event.
I was sitting on the inside edge of the big dirt bend and have video of that somewhere. Such a cool thing! I saw David Higgins crash off that corner as well in the morning. Too bad they cancelled the event this year (I think?)

As a Tacoma World member who has never owned a Tacoma, I'm super game for this! I'll set the pace in the STi :burnrubber:

I see you don't have a name for Rhode Islanders

    :stirthepot:

    We drive worse than Mass.

A few times I wish I still had my old Mazda 3. Wasn't the Speed3, but I had the 2.5L 4 banger. That thing was bullet proof and FUN. I didn't get a lot for trade in, potentially I could have kept it. But, RI...Insurance and taxes probably wouldn't have been worth it.

RI drivers up here at least don't seem to cause as many issues.

The Mazda 3's were fun. My ex had a 2012 SkyActiv 2.0 (I think), and it wouldn't win any races, but it was fun to throw around!

My last experience with a Speed3 was at an autocross event 2 years ago. Some kid from MA had one with an insanely large turbo. It wouldn't build boost until like 4,000rpm. He just wanted to go fast, not improve his skills and learn how to drive quickly and smoothly. I've never seen as massive of a cone massacre in my life as I did that day... RIP
