A fix still on for next month? Surprised a serious condition like fuel pump failure is taking so long to address

It's a big recall, doesn't just affect our tacomas.pretty much any Toyota product using the same series/model pumps around the world. Someone had posted a schedule as far as time, date month what model vehicles would begin the recall.
And ours was slated for Sept.

I just called the dealer to make an appointment for T-SB-0213-17 (license plate lamp moisture) and get that fixed under warranty. They said while I was in there, they can do the fuel pump recall. Supposedly, they are doing it tomorrow. I’ll report back after...

I just booked an oil change for Sept. 8 and asked about the recall fuel pump fix. The service gal said that it takes 4 hours and they want the tank to be half full or less. She said to call back at the end of Aug. to see if they are ready to do the fix on Sept. 8. She also said that the only fuel pump problems that she knows of have occurred in hot climates so for many areas it is just a precautionary fix.

Had mine in the shop yesterday. They said they had no idea when the recall work could be completed. They had no timeframe on receiving parts due to so many vehicles needing fixing.

After dropping the truck off today (and talking to a different advisor), won’t be getting the recall done tomorrow - as I figured. The other advisor was not informed.

Called about this today. Told me no fix yet or its not ready yet. Well i told service advisor i need my truck not to breakdown on me when i am travelling in mountains late at night. Took my nunber and called me later tonight saying they can give me a longterm rental like 60-90 days. Only thing is they cant promise me another taco or tundra. Prolly camry. F that. I need a 4x4. Thats why i bought one. And i dont want my primarily garaged taco sitting oitside for three months. Guess i will wait till it either breaks down or they come up with fix.

Fyi. 12k miles. Sometimes when taking a turn at slow speed and hitting gas, there is a hesitation. Is this a sign?

No I don’t think it is. That’s the buggy transmission we have lol. I have a 2019 with 12k miles as well and I’m just praying it holds out until I get the new fuel pump. I’m not doing any backwoods or offroad far away trips until my truck has the new pump

I'm in no rush to get mine done. I figure i'll let the techs slam through a few of them and mess the first few up. I'm not willing to let my truck be a training tool on flat rate.

We had the low pressure fuel pump recall done on my wife's 2018 Camry XLE V6 yesterday. Took them about an hour and a half.

Hey Guys, I just wrapped up changing the fuel pump on my '19 tacoma, because the dealership refused to fix it after almost a year, and I refuse to take the risk of being stranded on my next trip. I'm going to post some pictures and how I did it, wasn't as bad as I thought, I lifted the truck bed. I found a Fuel pump assembly of ebay for $175.

I was really worried about this Spectra brand being a no-name fuel pump, but I took it apart and the fuel pump included in this module is the Factory OEM Denso 291200-1001, with a higher batch lot code #. This spectra is the same exact unit as the original OEM fuel pump for a fraction of the cost

can confirm. I had this same thing happen with a Subaru accel pedal. Bought no name cheapy and it was an actual Brand new Denso part In the box. Looked into it an this is a common thing with certain auto parts, primarily for imports. I’ll probably do the same Thing if Toyota continues to drag their heels about the recall.
