    Hello,

I have just completed my toyota care for my 2017 Tacoma, and after the last oil change, I noticed the performance of the transmission/engine is similar to when I first purchased the vehicle in 2017. When I bought the truck I noticed it shifting at weird times and was very jumpy on the throttle. At this time I was getting around 18 mpg. In 2018 after I got the truck back from a service at the dealer, I noticed it was riding much smoother, and averaged around 20 mpg. Both of these mileages took place with similar driving and same seasons of the year.

I believe that the engine/transmission curves program changed sometime, and most recently it was set back to the original, but obviously I want the most updated program. Does anyone know if there is a way to determine the program the engine is running on, and if it is the most updated version?

    Thanks,

You can get your ECU ID using the Carista or OBD Fusion apps or with TechStream and a USB adapter. The Tactrix adapter is highly recommended, esp if you want to flash TSBs.

The latest ECU ID for the 2017 ATs is 04B04.

TechStream and the ECU Update thread is linked in my signature below.
