I had on order a set of Bilstein 5100's that were due to be installed next week. Apparently there is a component that is backordered and my order will not ship until the middle of September at the earliest.

As a alternative the sales person at 4W parts suggest the equivalent Pro Comp set up. Basically I just want to level the front about 2 inches to fit my 265/75/16's on the front with no rubbing.

Are the Pro Comps as good as the Bilstein 5100's? The Pro Comps are a bit cheaper by about 100 bucks.

I am thinking I should just wait.

Don't let anyone push a product onto you. Sounds like they are just trying to make quick money.

What that guy said. I haven't heard too many good things about the Pro Comps. You're spending less money for a reason. I'm not sure they're any better than the stock shocks, and their only purpose is to lift.

That is exactly what I am thinking.

I really want the Bilsteins, I have read nothing but good things about them. The Pro Comps not so much.

    I think I'll just wait. =)

Id recommend getting lifting springs instead of setting the clip higher to get the lift, the ride will be smoother that way. I have mine set to the highest ring, and its a bit rough of a ride, I'm deciding whether I should upgrade to 6112/5160 down the line, or spend less money and buy lifting coils for the front and switching my single AAL for a progressive in the rear to improve the ride.

Ok so this is what I am planning on getting.

    Tell me what you think....

I am going to add a winch to the front of the truck. But not a heavy bull bar bumper. I have ordered a Hidden Winch Bumper from http://www.hiddenwinchmounts.com/
I have a Smittybilt XRC Gen 3 winch. The whole assembly with the HWMS mount weighs roughly 150 lbs.

So I was thinking about getting the 5100's set to 0 notch with a 2885 OME Coil
I am looking for a 1.5 to 2" inch lift (No more than 2"). Just enough to run 265/75/16's without rubbing.
The Strut assembly and a Deaver single AAL for the rear. Do I need anything in the rear (lol)?
This kit comes with a 1/4" top plate spacer to eliminate any drivers side lean.

I hope adding this does not void my warranty as this is a brand new truck. < Found the answer to this question.
Do I need a upper control arm? The kit is reasonably priced without ordering it.

This kit is at a very good price and I want to make sure before I pull the trigger.

edit; So the way I understand it, the Adjustable Upper Control Arm is to aid in the alignment of a lifted truck over 3". At 1.5 to 2" I shouldn't have any problem with alignment and don't need a AUCA. Correct?

That sounds like a good setup, the OME 2885 is meant for stock weight, so it might sag just a little under the extra weight of the winch and bumper, since it'll weigh more (even if just slightly), and you won't get the full lift amount, but that doesn't sound like its an issue for you?

You won't need a UCA, you won't get enough lift to need it, I don't think.

You shouldn't rub, at least not if you're using the stock rims, if you get something aftermarket, with a smaller offset, that might rub the cab mount or the pinch weld. But no way to know for sure until you mount it all up.

The Deaver AAL is supposed to be pretty good, but Single AALs are stronger, so they'll give you a bit of a rougher ride. A 3- leaf progressive will ride softer.

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks

    That helped out ALOT!!

After some more research on TW and Google it looks like I don't need the shocks and coil to run 265/75/16 with no rubbing on my stock rims.
If I was going with aftermarket rims with a different offset then there maybe an issue with rubbing. I do not have front mud flaps.

The way I am understanding the OME coils is basically the coil witt the higher number gives you more lift before whatever load you plan to put on it.

So a OME 887 would give the front end 2.25" of lift without any load. Add a winch and a mount and it will compress, what an inch or so?

So I think a 885 coil would be good to compensate for the winch. Maybe even the 887, I just don't want to run into problems with alignment.

For now I am not looking to go with huge tires and a lift. I just want some All Terrains and a way to recover my vehicle and my buddies if we get stuck.

I'm running 885 on 5100 on the stock truck and I've gained 1.8" (~22.5 hub to the fender lip).
You may not meet your expectations if you are planning to add a weight to the front.

That is the information I am looking for.

The total for the Winch and Hidden Winch Mount is 150 lbs. I should probably go with 200 lbs just to be safe.

Maybe the 887 would be the best option, that way the winch and mount would compress the 2.5 inches the 887 gives to more like 1.5 to 2 Inches under load.

vlady--do you have any weight on the front? I've got about 130lbs with bumper and winch--which didn't seem to settle the stock coils at all btw. looking at the @HeadStrong Off-Road 5100 w/ ome coils and aal, and like the OP, trying to avoid UCAs. bought my 2016 OR used with 265 70 17 ko2s and a revtek top spacer which gives it about 1.5" lift (I think)--need to measure hub to fender lip for comparison. biggest i plan to go for tires is 255-75-17s , only about 1/2" taller than my current set up. debating between 885s and 887s. appreciate your input!

No, I don't have any weight added to the front.
