Looks really good. How big of a lift are you running? Did you get any rubbing?

I run OME nitrochargers with 885’s in front. Only rubbing was at full lock in reverse on the front of the drivers fender liner. I just used a heat gun to reshape the liner and it’s all good now.

Well, I joined the club too... Adding another datapoint:

I just got 255/80/17 Cooper ST MAXX tires on Icon Rebounds with 0 offset, 8.5 wide wheels. I'm lifted 2.5-3" up front.

I clear the aftermarket UCA, but I'm rubbing on the RekGen mudflats up front. No off-roading yet to see where else I may rub. I may take a heat gun to the flaps. I don't want to lose the flaps.

So far, the ride is just as quiet as stock Wranglers.

A little squirrelier than the Wranglers on the road but it may be that the Coopers were inflated to 40psi. I kept the Wranglers between 30-36 psi on the road.

    two skinnys vs a 315 75 16..

    Nitto 255/80/17 < vs Pro Comp 315/75/16 < vs Goodyear 275/80/17
Pro comp spec is listed @ 34.6" the same height as what Goodyear list the MTR's All three of these tire are new and mounted....
    1_e0271b93bf4ec5277bd9a4af63b1fb2350a284ef.jpg2_f1ed2841ecc80c59c489fc23d3187db6354a1b7e.jpg
The Nitto's above are the same height as the Toyo 255/85/16 MT's below next to the 255/80/17 Cooper ST Maxx both of these tires also have zero miles. This shows how some tires run big and some run small....

After tons of research and reading almost this whole thread pulled the trigger and ordered Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 255/80/17s (33.3") to replace my 265/70/17 KO2s (31.6"). They'll be here later this week. Will post before and after pics soon as I get em. Stoked!

tbh, I haven't read all of the thread but idk why some of yall go so skinny. I'm on stock suspension on 265/75/16 KO2s (Practically 31's) and there's no rub at full lock even when flexed. And I'm almost positive the "1 inch TRD Pro lift" is a myth because I don't see any extra height even when next to another stock height trim.

I'll continue to edit this post so there's not too many new posts when I gather more. But here's a table of measurements taken as well off a 2017 model PRO and OR. Notice the total height difference too.

That’s because the tires are the same size. Ground clearance at the differential will be exactly the same. Tall skinnies add ground clearance at the differential. They are 2+” taller.

if the tires are the same size stock, on a stock 16" wheel, and the overall height is .4" difference, there's no 1-2" lift. Currently at work but I'm looking for a picture of mine next to my friend's stock sport next to a stock SR5. I'll find it eventually.

Edit: Sharpish I get what you’re saying now for ground clearance

And, all I'm saying is I've never noticed a lift difference next to other stock models. I'm not saying I'm right, but I'm definitely not saying that they're lifted.

Yes we’re on gravel, yes the lot is even. Next to a 2018 TRD sport. I’ve been up close in between the vehicles and didn’t see a difference in height at all. May not be the best pic but if there’s a 1-2” lift in there, it’d be noticeable.

I hope I am wrong I could use the extra height, but like I said I just don’t see it. This week I guess I’ll take a tape measure to the dealership and compare lol.

One of you! One of you! Swapped from 265/70/17 KO2s to 255/80/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers! Love how they look and no rubbing on flat ground or backing out of my terrible sloped driveway. May have to ditch the mudflaps but think that'd be it. This was an awesome forum to read and totally the whole reason for the swap. Anyone want to buy some 1 year old KO2s? Lol

Did you CMC prior? I’m still debating pulling the trigger on 255/80s.

I have one scheduled for the 3rd but don't know if I'll need it. Plan on going out and wheeling a bit this weekend, see if I can get it to rub. No CMC, no hammering, no cutting so far, only aftermarket bumper (arb) which frees up a bunch of space, aftermarket mud flaps with a smaller profile and about 3° caster on my SPC uppers. My driveway is super steep and I have to back out of it while cranked at a turn and it didn't rub at all. If I'm lucky won't have to do anything to truck

Keep me updated! Because I’m also thinking of the Sema wheels too. Aka, your setup is what I have been dreaming of for months. Looks super rad!

Thanks! It's been super fun building it up from stock. Always drooled over everyone's built Tacomas, now I have one of my own :bananadance:. Next is winch soon as my bike sells, then this black friday hoping to score skids/sliders and maybe a rear bumper. At that point I'm prolly going to need to re-gear. Things damned heavy already.
