That’s funny coming from them considering that Toyota delivers like half of all trucks with under-filled transmissions From the factory. And a little self serving to beat the drum of doom and charge that much. You can do this for free using the transmissions own pump.

And most shops will tell you that they "backflush" the system to wash out contamination. Which also washes out the clutches and next thing you know you've got 7 neutrals.

Typical dealership scare tactic. You have an ultraguage? Program the transmission temp PIDs, and take a quick spin around the block, it's pretty much idiotproof at that point. But the jumper wire on the OBDII isn't a brain buster either.

If you've made it this far in Tacoma ownership and haven't drained the transmission because you thought it was the oil pan, I have confidence in you.

It was for me. Could not get this to go into temp check mode for the life of me!! Luckily had an old iPhone around that promptly got jailbroken and given another lease on life as my aux trip computer.

I need to buy a new one too. The buttons fell out at the back and it's pretty much useless with out them. I have to poke something in there to press the button contact.

I think I can pull this off, there are videos and write ups all over the place. And I'm not about to pay $360 to the dealership. Probably going to just going to do 3 or 4 drain and fills from under the truck. Then to the temp and level check.
