I dont know. Thanksgiving weekend would probably be out for most people I'd think. Just too complicated to arrange things around that weekend. I think the 4th might be ok if it hasn't snowed by then. The 11th might be ok as well, but any later than that and I think we're done until after New Years.

Here's what I have as far as trails go around the 5 Mile area. The Winter trail is pretty close to what we did our first meeting, just a little longer.

I'm half tempted to go up the Winter trail to the north mines (the one with the jeep), then take Rattlesnake down just to get a taste of it. Its only rated a 3ish, so really shouldn't be that bad, but if others aren't up for that, there's always the regular roads as well.

Anyway, here's the "official" trails I have for that area (official as far as someone has named and documented their path and I found it to add to my collection), as well as our original TW trail in a Google Earth file. I did add one of my own points though, hereby now officially known as Shawn's Hill from here on out.

And of course, no one says we have to follow any trail at all either.

Yeah I have to stick around town Thanksgiving weekend cause one of my Captains is on vacation so we will be short handed if anything goes down. I think I would be okay with the 4th. My buddy is coming out from California the weekend of the 11th so I wont be available then.

Hey but Greg, since your familiar with 5 mile, would you want to to be in charge of this meet? If so, maybe we can start a list to see how many people would be up for a meet? If we could get enough people then we should totally have one before the snow gets to bad.

I'm just as familiar as you guys are, as I've been there a whole one time as well. ;) I'm really no good at large groups of people though. I can deal with 3-4 trucks ok, but more than that and its really just too much for me. I can run point just fine though (as long as no one minds needing to backup a few times), but trying to organize, etc is a bit more than I can deal with unless its just a tiny group.

Oh okay no worries. We'll see who else chimes in and maybe they can kinda look at setting it up.;)

My guess is that this would be a small group anyhow, due to the season. I could set it up, and see who is interested.... but first we would have to settle on a weekend that works for everyone.

Just about any weekend works for me. How about everyone else?

Yeah I think availability of people is going to be the main issue like you said because of the holidays. Now for me and my personal schedule, the 4th and 18th of December would be best for me. But who knows for everyone else? There hasnt even been a good number of people chiming in on this thread so I dont know whats going on? Maybe people are just done for this season?

The 4th would probably be the best bet, considering the onset of winter... and the 18th risks Holiday travel complications.

Disclaimer: If it's a good powder day, I will be up in the mountains skiing my heart away, regardless of other plans. Sorry folks.

Yeah I guess we can wait to see who posts up and is interested for a trail run possibly. If not, oh well, we can always wait until spring time.

Yeah I'll be snowboarding on the 10th and 11th of December so I wont be available that weekend.

Also, if you dont mind doing stuff on Sundays, that's a great day for me pretty much any weekend, and then I can talk a friend into bringing out his Jeep as well. He has plans on Saturdays though. But any time you want to go do something, just let me know. We dont have to have a meeting in order to do things.

Yeah very true Greg. Only reason I like Saturdays is if we do runs on Sundays, going out to the Salt Lake are is usually an all day thing for me so I dont like getting home in the evening and then straight to work on Monday morning. At least with Saturday meets, it gives me that extra day to relax before going back to work. But thats only cause I live 120 miles away!! I wish I was closer though!!

I'm just opposite since I've been forced into going into the office between certain time periods. Been spending Saturdays sleeping in/relaxing and Sunday has turned into my activity day.

Count me in for a trail run. The 4th of December would work for me. What do people want to do? Five Mile, Little Moab any other suggestions? Anybody interested in some winter camping...

I wouldnt mind doing 5 mile again. Like I said, it doesnt have to be anything to spectacular. I talked to Matt a couple hours ago and he said he would be up for another run. So that would make 5 of us!! I'm sure some others might be willing to go as well. Shawn, where you at?!?! This is your thread, haha.

Sounds like some good plans fellas! So sounds like the 4th? I'd be down with that for sure, but as Jan stated, if its snowing, I'll be up in the mountains
