    After pining for years, I finally got one last year. It was everything I imagined and more. Now, I'm on the hunt for a second that can take some rougher water.

    Surfing chop in the Sound last fall was a thrill. And, swimming out of the boat on hot days was more relaxing than any pool or beach.

    The only thing holding me back is I need a rack to haul them along with camping or vacation gear. My parents have a couple of sea kayaks. I should borrow those sometime.

    That is a problem. Heck, I might have the same one with a bigger boat. Parallel parking with a 10ft'er in the bed is less than fun. At least it loads under the ST. A bigger boat could go on the second tier and TG with the rear window rolled up.

    My friend is in the same struggle as he wants to ditch his Silverado for an SUV but an old shoulder injury won't work for roof racks and his heavy Hobie.

    They make roller systems that mount to the rear crossbars. Stand the kayak ‘mostly’ up and lean the top end against the rollers. Grab the end on the ground and pick it up and just roll forward on the rollers. Tie down and you’re done.

    Yeah. I related that to him, but he doesn't think it will work. He can't lift his unloaded arm above level. Riding anything with a forward lean or other similar stuff puts him down quickly. I was talking to him about some PT just to get some stretches or exercises. No go yet.

    I was thinking about that... if he can’t get the arm above horizontal that could be an issue. Where there’s a will there’s a way, but sometimes the juice isn’t worth the squeeze.

    Yeah. He's still happy with this 250,000mi Chevy, and just recently, the miles he needs to drive it have gone down to almost nothing. It is just a matter of what he wants to do.

    I've had much more minor shoulder problems and was stretching and pulling to loosen them up. I'm out of shape enough that a limited range of motion would be not ideal.

    We have hinge health through work that has sensors and an app to do OT type things in your own home. It's been really good for back pain issues (sitting for 8+ hours a day doesn't help).
