I've got to work, but I've been thinking about trying that trail. Would you bring back a report and pictures? I've never been on it and I've got a buddy who needs to break in a new, possibly delicate, rig without breaking anything.

its a very easy trail... the bypasses offer a bit more challenging terrain but not bad. with all offroading, there is risk of damage but it takes a pretty big mistake for damage on this trail.

For the record, i have never had any real damage on this trail. Never hit a rocker panel, never had an issue.

I did take a wrong turn in heavy fog and hit my bumper, not a bit deal. it was midnight, foggy with 15' visibility.

A prerunner with rear locker can make it through all of cleghorn

I've got no rear locker... Was wondering if I could tag along if I make it in time- never been out there and am very curious when it comes to new trails. I figure if I could make it out in the desert trails, I should be good here, but hey, I'm still new! Tell me what ya think!

you have rear lsd. your a sport right?

You should be fine, just gotta select the best path. some of the tougher lines on bypasses require rear locker but the general trail can be done in a minivan, just a dirt road. when going SW to NE the tougher bypasses are downhill. traction isnt the issue as much as driver skill.

ive done this trail both directions in my stock tacoma(although its not stock now). JDKeller, Dysfunctionalretard, among others have done every bypass in there prerunners. Iwas ahead of you when you scraped your door and did the 2' drop off with out hitting my rear, no stacking required.

the last time i did cleg. i removed the rocks because the rocks force the left side of the truck closer to the rocks risking door damage. you can always skip that bypass if you dont want to risk it. there is a little rock that sticks out that tags doors but its avoidable if you scoot to the right just an inch or two... but like i said, its avoidable...

i agree. that is why i said we should run sw to ne. start at the 15 and go towards silverwood. yes, i have a short wheelbase but the drop and hitting the rear (where you stacked) doesnt matter reg cab or dc or whatever. the departure angle is the same.

this is probably where you hit your door. its pretty common if you go to far driver. the little rock will reach out and nab your door.

im surprised you bothered fixing the door. i think it adds character :D
mine is worse (NOT FROM CLEGHORN)

You're not the only one. It's a hell of a balancing act, though. It drives one of my buddies nuts that I'm not less concerned about damaging my truck.

I did Cleghorn about a year ago with the TTORA crew and didnt have sliders as well. I did fine. I had fun and have been wanting to go again. I heard there has been a lot of closures..

I would like to go as well. Can we get a list going?
